Just when you thought you had escaped the teenage years of blemished skin, adult acne comes along. This has been the case for me, so I love trying new products to help my skin. I have always wanted to try charcoal based products; I’ve heard so much about how charcoal is effective at binding to oil and impurities in the skin.

Biore‘s new products come in three parts that I used together: a charcoal cleanser, a charcoal scrub, and a baking soda scrub. I was at first skeptical of the baking soda scrub, but after two weeks I grew to love the product more and more. Each product contains salicylic acid, which I found works well on my skin. I tested all three products at once for two weeks. I used the cleanser twice a day, with the charcoal cleanser in the morning, and the baking soda scrub at night. I chose to use the baking soda scrub at night because I knew it would help give my skin a deep cleanse after wearing make up all day. In the mornings I would still wake up somewhat oily, so I would use the charcoal cleanser and then the charcoal scrub afterwards.

BEFORE

What I noticed after the first two days of using these products was how much less oily my skin was throughout the day and how hyper pigmentation marks started to fade. However, occasionally I would feel like my skin was a little too dry and would have to use a light daily moisturizer after cleansing, but this was rare. I originally had a lot of embedded acne bumps on my skin that weren’t necessarily visible but I could feel them when I touched my face. I tried numerous products in the past to rid myself of this acne, but these products definitely did the trick. I recently chose to start using these scrubs and cleanser on my back and have already started to see a big difference in the acne marks and overall texture of my skin. I would recommend these products to anyone who is struggling with bad acne, or can’t seem to rid their skin of the last few zits and scars. There are not enough words to describe how much I love these products!
