So, I want to create a I <3 Sephora t-shirt because they are launching so many wonderful products this season. Who’s with me? I want the world to know I would rent space there if I could. Every time I visit a Sephora location, something new strikes me. Not only did they completely redesign their site, they have also renovated quite a few stores and even carry some of my favorite products once only found in department stores now. I have been shopping there for years, yet I still love adding new products into my beauty regimen. Just this past week, I attended the first ever Sephora Summer Beauty Fair in which brands such as Algenist, Caudalie, Fresh, GLO, Kate Somerville, Ole Henriksen, Sephora by OPI GelShine, St. Tropez and Sultra showed new products that made my head spin.

I do appreciate witnessing how technology is allowing for our cosmetics to not only last longer, but to also provide DIY items such as the GLO Brilliant Personal Teeth Whitening Device (who just recently won the Edison Award) and the soon-to-be launched Sephora by OPI GelShine manicure. I like the option of doing beauty routines in the comfort of my own home as opposed to office visits. Not all the time, but I certainly appreciate the options that are now presented to us consumers.

I shall start with Algenist as they were a company I had heard of but got to know better via their presentation, plus demonstration on my very own skin. Algenist, I learned, was created by a team of biotechnology scientists in San Francisco that focused on developing renewable energy and by chance happened upon alguronic acid which demonstrated significant anti-aging properties increasing elastin synthesis by up to 32% and cellular regeneration by up to 55%.

Newly launched is their lightweight (yes, I said that) Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50 (available as of April, $38.00). Alguronic Acid combined with botanicals and UVA/UVB protecting actives make for a smooth and lightweight fluid that melted into my skin after application. Sometimes I find products with such high SPFs to be oily or too heavy for my sensitive skin, yet this felt delightfully lightweight. It Is also oil-free, paraben-free, suitable for all skin types and dermatologist tested.

They also will be launching in June a Targeted Deep Wrinkle Minimizer ($45.00) that claims to immediately work! Once again it’s the alguronic acid that makes it so effective. I was asked to put a dollop on my knuckle, wait ninety seconds and see if it looked different (or not). Well, it did! My fine lines seemed to fill in and looked mattified! I could not believe what I had just witnessed! I then saw a lot of before and after pictures that showed remarkable results that blew me away. Alguronic Acid Filling Spheres swell instantly to fill and smooth lines and conceal imperfections. I asked how long the “fillers” last and was told ‘all throughout the day.’

Directions for use would be to smooth a small amount onto the skin, targeting the forehead, eye and lip wrinkles as desired. If desired, you can even use it daily. I asked for a sample and got one and cannot wait to start using it as of tomorrow. I will let you know if my face reacts the same way my knuckle did, promise. 😉 These two products will be available at Sephora, Sephora.com, QVC and Algenist.com.
