14 Nov Review, Ingredients, Before/After Photos: EMK Placental Botanical Skin Care Radical Repair Eye Cream, Instant Lifting Mask Uses Plant Placental Proteins
When I hear the word “placenta”, I initially think of the health craze that sparked women into encapsulating their placenta during post-natal care.
Scientifically known as placentophagy, the act has caused some raised eyebrows so to speak, but the health benefits of consuming one’s placenta cultures are believed to be rich in nutrients and help balance hormones. But, did you know that it is also great for your skin!
You don’t have to eat it! We’re not talking human placenta here, but plant placental proteins.
Known as the pioneer in placenta protein based skincare treatments — and now in Bio-Identical Plant Placental Extract skincare treatments — EMK Placental Botanical Skin Care products continue to utilize the most advanced skincare technologies and cutting edge research to bring about remarkable anti-aging and skin-repairing results.
EMK researched and found out that plant placental proteins were as effective as human placental extracts, so EMK reformulated its product line using plant-based, newer, eco-friendly, animal-free ingredient technology.
The brand’s latest item is the Radical Repair Eye Cream ($85.00). The delicate orbital eye area is known for showing signs of aging and fatigue more quickly with noticeable crow’s feet, dark circles, puffiness and fine/deep set wrinkles.
Most eye creams only primarily focus on one eye concern at a time, like firming or anti-aging. But, EMK Placental Botanical Skin Care introduces a single eye cream that combats signs of aging, hydrates and helps treat dark and puffy under eye circles.
I was ready to try out this little golden jar wonder, trying it for two weeks both day and night. I suffer from dark circles, fine lines and some inflammation, which the cream helps to soothe. I was immediately enthralled by the eye cream’s scent: VANILLA! I never experienced a scented eye cream before, and it DID NOT irritate my eyes at all.
An advanced blend of anti-aging peptides soothe and lift the eye area upon first application. Hyaluronic acid smooths wrinkles in an action similar to DHEA — the “youth vitamin”, producing firmness and elasticity.
Eyeliss and haloxyl combat puffiness and dark under eye circles by improving circulation and combating the skin’s inflammatory response (my BIG eye problem!).
Super antioxidants like beta carotene, vitamin A and E found in this fluffy, smooth eye cream protect the delicate eye area from oxidative damage that leads to premature aging. Signature plant placental extracts as well aid in making this eye cream one-of-a-kind!
EMK Placental Founder, Emilia Karsh, touts the benefits of the plant placental extracts, stating that they:
“…improve oxygenation and skin tissue elasticity to diminish wrinkles, lift skintone and boost collagen creation.”
I also used the Instant Lifting Eye Mask ($18.00) and followed with the Radical Repair Eye Cream. The eye mask can be used up to 3 times, while an intense concentration of Bio-Identical Plant Placental Extract, collagen and elastin nourishes the eye area at the deepest possible level.
The natural cotton blend mask is meant to be used wet, so simply run some water on it and apply to your under eye area. I soon began to feel a cooling sensation and my under eyes were no longer puffy or tired-looking; I looked very rested and bright-eyed!
Just look at my Before/After photos (above) — some of my fine lines have seemed to vanish, and my dark, red circles are much lighter! If this eye cream containing placental proteins did this to just my eyes, imagine what the entire line can do for your face!
