More and more men are using makeup. Lilliana Vazquez gets the scoop on the latest trend and asks Philly guys, “would you wear it?”

$4.8 billion was spent on men’s grooming products in 2009 in the US, according to Euromonitor International, a market data firm. In 1997, the figure was half that — $2.4 billion.

Euromonitor also reports that the fastest growing men’s segments is skin care, which refers to nonshaving products like facial cleansers, moisturizers and exfoliants. That category grew more than fivefold over the period, to $217 million from $40.9 million.

We recently surveyed the BeautyStat.com community of female beauty obsessed consumers to find out whether the men in their lives are “stealing” their beauty products. And below is what we learned.
26 % of men use their partner’s body lotions, moisturizers, bubble bath and shower gels. when they do not
15% of men would like to use their partner’s chapstick or lip balm

19% would use face care products (8% anti- acne products) and 11 % use their eye cream.

Angela shows her concerns by saying, “My eye cream. He is afraid of under eye bags”.

Jessica shares, “He used to steal my Burts Bees lip balm, now I buy him the 3 pack. I don’t mind sharing though, the way I see it, at least he takes care of himself.”

15 % of men are very particular about getting rid of any unsightly hair on their face. Christine giggles, “Just looking for my tweezers. Guys can be such divas at times.”
