Spring/Summer 2013 Nail Art Design Trend: Chevron Nail Art Tutorial - How-To, Photos

There are so many beautiful nail color shades to choose from this season. But, which one? Pastel purple, glittery blue? How about wearing three of your favorite spring nail colors at once!

Our friends over at LOOK.TV came up with an easy, DIY Chevron nail art tutorial. You don’t need much to achieve this fashion-forward and artsy look — just three of your favorite polishes, some paper and patience!

Materials: Choose three colors (a gradient of light to dark shades)

Optional: Glitter

Step 1: Cut squares (five of them) into triangles.
Step 2: With your lightest shade, paint nail base (twice). Let dry completely.
Step 3: Cover up base of nail with tape corner.
Step 4: With medium shade, paint middle of nail. Let dry completely.
Step 5: Add a parallel tape of the triangle paper. Paint third darkest color.
Step 6: Let dry. Add a touch of glitter to base and a top coat.
