Mally’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender, $40.00

Mally’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender claims that it provides “the perfect finishing touch for your makeup.” It claims to “diffuse the look of pores, minimize fine lines, and protect makeup so it lasts from morning to night.” Face Defender says it will give you a flawless matte finish without the dry, ashy look of powder. It comes with a unique buffed-edge Japanese sponge and is not tested on animals.

The directions said that I was to tap the sponge onto the product and then tap (not rub or swipe) it gently all over my face. The rounded corners of the sponge are designed to get into all those hard to reach places, such as side of nose and inner corners of your eyes.

I must say I was a bit skeptical about this product but when I tried it—over my foundation and blush—I was very pleasantly surprised. A few light taps and my face had a fresh, photo-worthy finish. And the effect lasted all day long. This makes a great addition to your daily routine and it will be my new, final step.

Mally’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender Boost, $37.00

Mally’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender Boost is very similar to the product reviewed above, but it has a warm, bronze tone to give your skin a little color. The matte and lightweight formula offers “a perfect finish for your make-up,” and works to “diffuse the look of pores, minimize fine lines, and help your make-up last longer.” Face Defender Boost comes in one universal shade made to suit all complexions. It comes with a unique buffed-edge Japanese sponge.

Having had success with the other product, I was eager to try this one as well. It was terrific—it gave the same flawless-finish results, only it had the added bonus of a little color. I looked like I’d been on vacation and/or had been sleeping really well. I’m a convert—no more loose or pressed powder for me! From now on, I’m using these products as the final step in my make-up application.
