If you’re a fan of butter London Nail Lacquers (as we are here at BeautyStat!), then you’re going to LOVE their NEW Bespoke Colour Cosmetics Collection that includes:
5 NEW Nail Lacquers, 6 shades of WINK Colour Mascara, 6 WINK Cream Eyeshadows, 6 WINK Eye Pencils, 6 LIPPY Tinted Balms and 4 shades of CHEEKY Cream Blush!
Founded in 2005, butter London has been the nail authority brand, bringing nail enthusiasts of all kinds bold, eclectic, daring shades. But now, eyes, lips, cheeks and lashes get to hone in on all the colorful fun our nails have been enjoying for years.
These color cosmetics are meant to be modern, hip and wearable with a rock ‘n’ roll edge.
“We are an irreverent brand full of contradictions,” says Leslie Freytag, President and CEO of butter LONDON®.
“Known for products that consistently deliver beautiful, fashion-inspired results, this new collection of cosmetics ensures our clients continue to experience the level of quality they have come to expect and in a way that lets them showcase their own individual personality.”
I love how the British use color (or, more appropriately, COLOUR) to express themselves. I mean, just marveling at the looks Katie Jane Hughes, Global Colour Ambassador, created for the campaign is certainly eye-opening: green eye lashes and nails (matching your eyes to your nails is going to be BIG this season!), flushed cheeks, glossy red lips and colored eyeliner — there are so many ways to express yourself with this colorful collection.
Check out a tutorial on how to get an all-over, green Jaded Jack look with Katie Jane Hughes HERE:
The 5 Nail Lacquers ($15.00) in this collection match the WINK Mascaras and Eye Pencils. Like all butter London Nail Lacquers, these new shades go on smooth, dry fast and are very easy to remove — even the glitter polishes came off in a snap!
Shades available are:
Union Jack Black — Opaque, glossy jet-black cream
Indigo Punk — Full coverage, indigo-purple glitter (not swatched)
Inky Six — Medium coverage, deep blue glitter
Brown Sugar — Opaque, copper shimmer with gold glitter
Pistol Pink — Opaque, magenta pink shimmer
Jaded Jack — Opaque, lime green cream
I just love the idea of matching my eyes to my nails; Inky Six is such a deep, glittery blue and Pistol Pink adds a bit of pinky shimmer to your digits. Katie Hughes suggest combining shades together with a cool nail art technique:
“My favorite is using saran wrap for a vintage, textured effect. Once you’ve painted your base color, pour a second shade onto a piece of foil (this will keep the lacquer cool which allows you more time to apply without the formula drying).
Then take a small piece of saran wrap and bunch it up into a very small, uneven ball so you have different edges. Dip the saran wrap into the lacquer and dab onto your nails sparingly, trying to make each nail look a bit different.”
For a subtle yet vibrant wash of color, WINK Cream Eyeshadows ($18.00) are lightweight and velvety in application. The doe foot applicator allows for easy touch-ups, but it is best to apply the cream eyeshadow on the back of your hand and then dab on to your lids for a more natural look, as suggested by Katie.
butter London released some NEW shades of purple for the arrival of the royal baby! Check out SWATCHES and PHOTOS —> HERE!
They aren’t too shimmery and blend really well, but, I found that they are hard to layer on top of each other — use them separately on different areas of the eye for best results.
The shades include:
Alabaster Glaze — Silver shimmer
Sun Kiss — Muted gold shimmer
Jaded Jack — Grass green shimmer
Pistol Pink — Rose-pink shimmer
Inky Six — Baby blue shimmer (not swatched)
Indigo Punk — Lavender shimmer (not swatched)
The softest eye pencils I have EVER USED are undoubtedly the WINK Eye Pencils ($18.00). They stay put for 24-hours — I couldn’t even get them off my hand using soap and water when I swatched them! High-intensity color with a long-wear performance make these eye pencils stand the test of time.
The colors are outrageous from electric blue (Inky Six) to neutral chocolate brown (Brown Sugar). Add different colors anywhere on the eye! They are so richly pigmented they are encouraged to be used as eyeshadow, too! The other shades add flare to your makeup look:
Jaded Jake — lime green cream (not swatched)
Pistol Pink — Magenta pink shimmer
Indigo Punk — Violet shimmer
Union Jack Black — Jet-black cream
I tried Jaded Jack (lime green), Pistol Pink (magenta pink), Indigo Punk (violet shimmer) and Union Jack Black (jet-black cream). Also available is Inky Six (cornflower blue shimmer) and Brown Sugar (chocolate brown).
These gel-based, clinically-tested mascaras define and smooth lashes for even application without clumps. They can also be used on brows and hair for more colorful fun! The formula is definitely long-wearing — it took a lot of man power and makeup remover towelettes to get the job done!
The bristled brush has a narrow, ovoid shape that coats lashes comfortably, making it easy to add more coats without the clumps.
Jaded Green really showed up well on my dark lashes, while it took the other colors a bit more coats to show any color. If you have lighter lashes than mine, I bet these colors (especially the darker ones) will show up really well!
Get cheeky with a sheer flush of color! CHEEKY Cream Blush ($20.00) is long-lasting with natural emollients that gives high color payoff.
Mango seed butter adds luminosity to skin with 4 bright and natural shades: Naughty Biscuit — a rosy nude cream; Honey Pie — a peach-pink cream (swatched); Abbey Rose — a rose-pink cream (swatched) and Pistol Pink — a fuchsia-pink cream. The creamy, smooth formula is easy to blend on cheeks, even lips!
LIPPY Tinted Balm ($20.00) delivers the moisture of a balm with the finish and color of a lipstick! The balms glide on easily without tugging on delicate lips.
Avocado, mango seed, cocoa and shea butter keep lips hydrated for hours, while the buildable color has you wanting to reapply again and again!
Toasted Marshmallow/ LIPPY Sheer Lipgloss in Tipple on top (second photo)
I tried Toasted Marshmallow — a medium coverage nude cream, which went on a bit more matte but was still moisturizing; Apricot Sunray — a medium coverage coral cream that is so in at the moment! And lastly, my favorite, Strawberry Field — a medium coverage red cream that adds a pop of flushed, just-bitten color to lips.
Other shades include:
Axis Kiss — Medium coverage punchy pink cream
Abbey Rose — Medium coverage rose cream
Black Cherry — Medium coverage wine cream
