Sephora PRO – Jill Stuart

NYFW Best Makeup Trends, Spring/Summer 2014: Dewy Skin, Coral/Pink Lips, Colorful EyesWe made model Lindsey Wixson smile!

Look: Cool, fresh skin punctuated with “imperfection” in the form of an intense, raw eye to
mirror the chic, modern feel of the season’s collection. Makeup a gal would do herself, but with
an elevated feel: touches of metallic and silver, for glowing skin.

Steps:

1. Strong eyes are best offset with flawless complexion. Use a creamy concealer like, Givenchy Mister Light Instant Light Corrector Pen and Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick, only where you need to hide redness and set it with powder, like Laura Mercier Invincible Loose Setting Powder — all while letting your natural cheek color shine through.

2. To add dimension, simply use a light application of glossing cream on cheekbones, nose bridge and chin with Josie Maran Argan Infinity Cream Intensive Creamy Oil.

3. Using a creamy black eye pencil, like Givenchy Magic Kajal Eye Pencil in Magic Black, sketch around the upper and lower lash line and smudge into crease.

4. Add a dot of silver shadow (Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No.7 Plush Shadow Palette in The Starlet 204; the silver shade) to inner corners of the eye (to add a touch of brightness.)

5. Finish with a glossy look by dabbing clear gloss on eyelids with Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in Crystal, using fingertips or blend with the pencil to help smudge/create a gray effect. Finish up the look with generous coats of mascara, like Sephora Collection Outrageous Volume Mascara in Black.

6. Lips were left bare, just a dab of balm for a healthy touch.

Look: Pamella Roland’s collection was inspired by the glamour and decadence of the Cannes Film Festival in the early 1960s.

According to Matin, the French stars “were very different from the polished British and American ladies. They kept it sexy, a bit smudgy, like they just rolled out of bed and put lipstick on.” With a coral lip that paid homage to the colour palettes of ‘60s, and a modern peach and chocolate smudged eye, the look perfectly merged the past with the present.

Products Used: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen was applied to create a flawless canvas. Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Sunrise and Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Rosebud were dabbed onto cheeks, adding a natural, rosy flush to the skin.

NYFW Best Makeup Trends, Spring/Summer 2014: Dewy Skin, Coral/Pink Lips, Colorful Eyes

Natural hues and bold lashes accentuated the eyes. Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Sunrise was applied all over the eyelid. Then, beginning at the lash line, Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Truffle was added and faded outward. Using the same shade, eyes were rimmed creating a “halo effect.” To complete the eyes, a coat of Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara was used.

A classic, feminine lip was achieved using Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour in Mod. To add a final touch of glamour, apply Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Brigitte and then blot the lips.
