I have been on the prowl looking for yet another awesome foundation. None seem to be the right shade, or have the right texture or finish. Well, I was lucky enough to come across some Urban Decay products last week. And, I have to say, I really like them! Along with the brush and primer, you can get a really good finish: not heavy or cakey, and the coverage is great!

Being a senior editor here at BeautyStat, I get to try a plethora of products — primer being one of them. So, when I first saw the Complexion Primer Potion Brightening & Tightening ($31.00), I wasn’t too impressed. Of every primer on the market, I only really like about two of them. But, I decided to give this one a chance. First thing, I liked the packaging and you get just enough product. So you don’t have to worry bout wasting any. I will be very honest, I didn’t see much brightening on my skin, however, my pores were shrunk and the primer gave my skin a nice texture for the foundation to glide on. The primer contains the following ingredients:

Hyaluronic Acid Filling Spheres – to boost collagen, hydrate and smooth; blow out lines
Lychee Extract – to protect against environmental aggressors
Peptides – to lift, firm and reduce appearance of wrinkles
Deep Sea Active Ingredients and Algae – to provide long-lasting effects and prevent signs of premature aging

Next up is the Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup ($38.00; bottle pictured above). I love the packaging of this foundation! The bottle is easy to grab on my makeup table and the pump is hygienic, so you don’t waste any product — and the liquid doesn’t oxidize so fast. As I pumped the foundation onto my hand, I noticed the scent right away. It doesn’t bother me, however, it reminds me of paint. The texture is very light and the color was spot-on.

I pumped once to start with that, then stippled the Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush ($24.00) into the foundation. I start at my cheeks and work outward. I swirl the brush over my skin, stippling over the areas that need extra coverage. What I like best about this brush is that it’s tightly packed; you have good control over where you are applying, unlike other foundation brushes that are all loosey-goosey.

I usually go for one more pump and continue on the other areas of my face. Overall, this foundation has a great price — I loved the coverage! In my early 20’s I loved coverage, the more the better. However, now at thirty-nine, I am trying to look like I have nothing on at all. The finish of the foundation is neither matte nor shiny, just perfect! Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup helps me to achieve just that. Some of the ingredients in the foundation are:

Matrixyl 3000 – anti-wrinkle and lifting peptides to restore and maintain skin’s youthful appearance
Litchiderm – protects skin from dehydration, oxidation stress, and accelerated aging
Sodium Hydrogenate – holds and attracts water for optimum hydration
Japanese Green Tea – soothes and calms skin with antioxidants to neutralize free radicals and promote collagen production
Vitamin E – hydrates and increases skin’s elasticity while fighting off free radicals that cause skin to age prematurely

Overall, I was really pleased with these products. Used together, I was able to create a canvas that just looked like really healthy skin!
