Shu Uemura Art Of Beauty combines the gift of contemporary art in the form of a makeup collection with the 6 Heart Princesses 2013 Holiday Collection, featuring artwork based on the upcoming animation series directed by Takashi Murakami.

Murakami is known for his Tokyo pop-art, and this new anime follows the adventures of mischevious witch girls called “Majokko”, which is about a normal girl that magically changes into a super woman, exploring the facets of beauty and womanhood… isn’t that exactly who we all are, beauties?

This holiday collection celebrates the transformative theme of reflecting another, more completely opposite persona. The light and dark side exists in all of us. And two ultimate face palettes can have you rocking a Japanese pink princess or a more sultry and naughty witch girl.

Explore different sides of your personality with the Eye And Cheek Parallel Palette ($69.00) — 7 iridescent and pearly eyeshadows and 1 cheek blush can help you achieve an enchanting look, whether you’re feeling naughty or nice.

Choose from Heart-Full Pink (a romantic palette of shimmery white, yellow, orange and pink shades) and Enchanted Black (a provocative collection of black, green, purple and pink shades).

If you want to feel like a Japanese anime princess, then Heart-Full Pink will give you that bright-eyed, innocent look. The beautifully ornate design on the palette is emblazoned with colorful hearts and a pink-haired princess in flight.

Once opened, you are welcomed by a huge mirror, 2 brushes for eyes and cheeks and 4 Pressed Eyeshadows in PK1, PK2, PK3 and PK4, 3 Silk Smooth Eyeshadows in PK5, PK6 and PK7 and 1 Blush Face Color in Glow On.

I was completely in love with the Pressed Eyeshadow in PK3, which is a milky pale pink that has amazing pigment. For such a light shade, it really shows up on my lids well and gave me that bright princess makeup look.

I used ALL the shadows on my eyes, using the Silk Eyeshadows on the outer corners and lower lash line; they aren’t cream shadows, but definitely have a wonderful silky (that’s exactly how you’d describe its texture) feel that glides over easily without tugging. When swatched it feels like you aren’t picking up any pigment at all, but you’d be surprise at how rich the color really is!
