Cover Girl has always been a great, affordable cosmetics line and chances are you have an item in your makeup bag right now. Today I’m sharing with you a new mascara rom the brand, as well as new products from their collaboration with Katy Perry.

There are two new mascaras on the market! The first is The Super Sizer Fibers by Lashblast, $6.85 (prices may vary depending on where purchased). This mascara claims to give you 400% more volume for full, fanned out lashes. The brush is on the smaller side and really helps to separate and comb through lashes without getting clumpy.

The second mascara is from Katy Perry’s collaboration with Cover Girl and is called Katy Kat Eye. I have this in two shades: Perry Blue and Black. The wand has a very interesting look. It’s a little swirly with dips in it. It appears to be a natural bristle brush. This mascara is good to add volume to your lashes.

In the photographs, I first applied The Super Sizer Fibers and then applied the Katy Kat Eye as my second coat. I really like the finished effect. What do you think?

Katy Perry also has a line of lipsticks coming out with Cover Girl. I have two shades: Perry Panther (black) and Crimson Cat (red). These lipsticks have great pigmentation and are super creamy. I’m not sure if they are supposed to be marketed as a matte lipstick but they do not contain any shimmer. I wouldn’t say they are totally matte though. They have more of a creamy finish.

Crimson Red is a bold and bright red. Perry Panther is a traditional black. It’s not the deepest, darkest black lipstick I’ve ever tried but if you’re looking for a black lipstick to use once in a while or for a special occasion, you will love this. I don’t wear black lipstick often so I naturally preferred Crimson Red.
