29 Aug Ingredient Review: Tarte Cosmetics Colored Clay Collection — CC Undereye Corrector, Eye Primer Stick, Tinted Brow Gel — GIVEAWAY
Buffing on some mineral powder compared to ordinary foundation always makes us feel special. “I can apply as much as I want, ’cause it’s good for me!” you might exclaim. So, this fall, embrace some colored clay from Tarte Cosmetics. Tarte first introduced colored clay with their CC Primer swivel stick (with purple and green colored clay), which proved to be a multi-tasking, skin perfector that brightens, evens skintone, blurs imperfections and neutralizes any redness or discoloration.

But what exactly is colored clay? And why is it so good for our skin? The colored clay can be found off the Brazilian coastline, and contains natural ingredients like magnesium, titanium and iron. As these rich minerals oxidize, they turn into a rich color. As seen in the primer stick, colored clay has shown to provide anti-aging, oil production, hydration and anti-inflammatory benefits. Tarte Cosmetics harvested the colored clay, made sure it dried naturally in the sun, then shaved it into a fine powder for it to be infused with the latest cosmetics line. And there’s every type of colored clay you can think of, from yellow clay (offsets dark spots and blemishes) to red clay (helps improve the appearance of skin elasticity).
The CC Undereye Corrector instantly masks undereye discolorations and dark circles, while improving the appearance of skintone and texture over time. This corrector is entirely full-coverage, and includes light-diffusing particles to diffuse dark circles. It contains rose clay to soothe the skin around the eye area and caffeine to help improve micro-circulation while reducing puffiness. And this is just some of the many eye-enhancing ingredients!
The universal shade of the Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick (left) is infused with lid-nourishing and color-correcting colored clay. We didn’t even know vanilla clay was a thing until now! But it helps control oil to keep eyeshadow pigments in place all day. Green and yellow clay are also involved to diffuse an uneven skintone and neutralize any redness around the eyes. While this eye primer stick conditions your delicate eyelid, it also makes your shadow last for up to 12-hours!
Fill in some sparse hairs and protect those healthy brows! All of this can be achieved with the Colored Clay Tinted Brow Gel that lets you enhance, define and shape your brows like a pro. The tiny brush head dispenses just the right amount of color, so you won’t go overboard during application. Its creamy formula contains peptides to condition and smooth brows, while reducing surface oils to keep pigment in place all day long!
