03 May Review, Photos, Hairstyle Trend 2017, 2018: Aveda Shampure Thermal Dry Conditioner, Shampoo, Light The Way Candle
Lately, all we hear is “dry shampoo this, dry shampoo that.” These products have a cult following that allow any chick on the go, to prolong her hairstyle. But here’s a term we rarely hear: dry conditioner. We spend so much time worrying about our greasy roots, we forget about our dry ends.
Enter the Shampure Thermal Dry Conditioner ($31), which instantly conditions, detangles and softens hair in between washes. A blend of certified organic jojoba and sunflower oils help condition and detangle hair. Calms the senses with an aroma with 25 pure flower and plant essences including certified organic lavender, petitgrain and ylang ylang. The light, non greasy formula won’t wear hair down, but revives dull, flat hair to a silky smooth finish. Shake well. Holding bottle 6-8 inches away, spray lightly onto dry hair, focusing on mid-lengths to ends. Follow with heat device of your choice for a more polished look. Style as desired. The classic Aveda fragrance will leave you feeling like you just stepped out of the salon.
Pairs well with the Shampure Dry Shampoo ($30), which is a little different from the rest of the dry shampoo world. The non-aerosol powder mist absorbs excess oil between shampoos. Unlike traditional dry shampoos that you spray to your roots, Aveda’s dry shampoo is a bit trickier. Tip bottle upside down. Return upright. Turn cap to expose nozzle. Lightly squeeze bottle to puff powder at roots. Massage powder into your scalp and restyle as desired. I found this process to take longer and distributing the product evenly a bit trickier. However, the oil absorption is amazing and the aroma, with 25 pure flower and plant essences, is nothing short off luxurious.
This year, in honor of Earth Month, buying a LIGHT THE WAY CANDLE ($12) can lead to years of clean drinking water for a person in Madagascar. This year’s limited-edition aroma features certified organic vanilla, cinnamon and ylang ylang from Madagascar, where Aveda has helped fund water systems for 10,000 people.
