New York Fashion week has come and gone yet again and while there are staple trends that we can look forward to this fall, some designers have thrown us a curve ball. Often reserved for the warmer weather of spring and summer, loose wavy hair has made its way onto the Fall/Winter runways.

Gibson says, “This look is reminiscent of Brigitte Bardot and Sharon Tate – it has a 60s retro feel to it but is very modern at the same time because of the texture. Texture plays a huge part in this look…We aren’t afraid of texture and “undone” is what’s in!” I think it’s fashionable to have more of a matte finish to hair instead of the super glossy finish that we’ve been used to.”

The Jason Wu show also displayed sexy hair thanks to Odile Gilbert for Kerastase Paris. This marked the first time Jason Wu models walked down the runway with their hair down! To get the look Odile simply applied Kerastase Spray a Porter Buildable Texture Spray on wet hair and used fingers to enhance texture. Next, the hair was parted in the middle and a curling iron was used to create waves leaving the ends straight. Finally Kerastase V.I.P. Dry Volumizing and Texturinzing Spray was added and fingers ran through hair again before spritzing Kerastase Laque Dentelle Flexible Hold Spray to complete the look.

Other designers to carry the look were Rodarte with John Freida. Stylist Odile Gilbert again went for Incredible shine and movement inspired by the idea of beautiful and natural textures.

Get the look:

  • Depending on the hair’s natural texture, either apply Frizz Ease Beyond Smooth Frizz Immunity Primer or Frizz Ease Dream Curls Air-Dry Waves Styling Foam to wet hair.
  • Next blow dry hair while combing through with your fingers and spray Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray and work in with hands while diffusing.
  • Once all the hair is dry, take random pieces and curl them using a 1 ½ inch curling iron.
  • To finish, spray Frizz Ease KeraFLEX Hairspray to hold the style and brush through with a natural bristle brush.
