Calvin Klein Beauty– Soft, and light, Beauty is a floral with what the company calls a “Neo lily” note that the fragrance is said to be based on. I only get a little of the lily but it’s definitely there, although the jasmine is more prevalent to my nose. The drydown brings a little cedar in to ground it. This one wears close and is good for those who want a “clean” fragrance. Something for everyday that will give you “just enough” scent. This is totally different than anything in the Calvin Klein line.

Tocca Colette- Colette is named for the famous French author and is an herbs and spice scent mostly with just enough floral to keep it feminine. Colette begins with citrus-the bergamot and lemon. Then the cedar comes along with the juniper and pine notes and it has a bit of an astringent tone. Don’t let that word make you think this isn’t a pretty scent, it is. It’s just not a typical floral. All that makes for a light and subtle scent that stays very close to the skin.

Estee Lauder Sensuous Noir– Estee Lauder has taken the original Sensuous and tweaked it a bit. A key addition is patchouli giving it a sweeter edge. It’s musky and ambery but rose and spicy lily have also been added along with black pepper and vanilla to make a warm, cozy scent that lasts all day. This one says fall and winter all over it.

Bond No. 9 Washington Square- Best described as a slightly sweet, smoky, rose/ floral musk perfume. It’s got a great mix of notes, and is well blended in the tradition of so many previous Bonds. The smoke is light and tempered by bergamot in the beginning and then there is rose, amber and a hint of leather. The honey note adds the sweetness (but not too much). The drydown brings in the leather, vetiver and a touch of musk. Fall comfort scent perfection.

Annick Goutal Rose Splendide A new rose, almost a soliflore (a single note fragrance) based on the Centafolia Rose, but this is fresh, dewy and more modern than what many think of with rose perfumes. Rose Splendide is sweet ( notes of pear and vanilla) romantic and pretty. Goutal never gets it wrong, quality is their hallmark and this one is a great new addition to the venerable house.

DKNY Be Delicious EDT– The popular fragrance celebrates it’s 5th anniversary with the introduction of an EDT version. The notes remain the same as the original EDP but done up in a lighter way as EDTs usually are. The bottle will be clear to reflect the new formulation.
