Limited Edition Alert: Since its January 5th release, Iris Apfel’s bird-inspired collection for MAC is so gorgeous you’ll want to purchase the entire collection; luckily, I was able to sample two eye shadows and two lipsticks. By looking at the colorful palette, I truly wanted them all! They are bold and beautiful, and many have already been sold out online at www.macosmetics.com.

Iris Apfel — subject of her own exhibit at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art back in 2006 — is best known for boldly mixing flea market finds with haute couture, decades before it was considered “in fashion”. In my opinion, just by looking at her and her work you get the feeling she was driven by her own passion for color, fashion, love of life, and so much more.

The lipsticks are available in 5 shades : Pink Pigeon, Scarlet Ibis, Party Parrot (sampled), Flamingo (sampled) and Morange. They feel creamy on the lips, especially Party Parrot, which is a Matte, and do not make my lips feel dry. Available for $14.50 at both MAC counters, boutiques and online (if not already sold out!).
