Review, Swatches: Clean & Clear’s Advantage Oil Absorbing, Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Cleanser, Scrub,Treatment

There is just one thing I have to say to Clean & Clear’s Advantage Oil Absorbing Collection, “Where have you been all summer?” I have suffered from some pretty serious oily skin this summer — not even my trusty oil-blotting papers were doing the trick. As soon as I stepped out of my house, walked to the train station and stood on the platform, my entire face was gleaming. Gross! Luckily, I was sent the Oil Absorbing Cream Cleanser, Acne Treatment and the new Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Smoothing Scrub to get my oily skin under control.

Okay, so the products might of came a little later in the summer for me, but boy am I grateful they did. Even though fall is coming, oil production is still a factor. We may even experience more oil due to the change in climate. I decided I was going to use the Advantage Oil Absorbing Cream Cleanser ($7.49) and Acne Treatment in the morning, since that is when I experience the most oil production and want to keep it at bay throughout the day.

The cream cleanser had a strong scent and I was a little nervous to use it — sensitive skin and all — but I went for it anyway! At first, I experienced a slight warming sensation, even though the label didn’t claim it would do so. The cleanser is said to wash away 85% of built-up oil; control shine all day long; cleanse, hydrate and address acne concerns with salicylic acid with POWDERPARTICLES technology — which is made up of rice proteins that targets the excess oil by absorbing 50% more of it than any other leading ingredient. I was pretty impressed, since it didn’t cause me to breakout more; my skin didn’t feel overly dry either, just clean.

I followed the cleanser with the Acne Treatment ($7.49), which can be substituted as your moisturizer. The treatment will not clog pores and is oil-free. This stuff is really amazing! I just put a few dots on my face and rubbed it in. At first, it feels like a regular facial cream, but as you smooth it along your face you feel an almost silicone-like consistency. There is absolutely NO SILICONE, so it must be the feel of the POWDERPARTICLES absorbing all the oil and leaving your face clean. It didn’t make my skin feel dry or tight at all. And at the end of the day and throughout, my usually oily forehead and chin were pretty free of oil — I rarely had to take out my oil-blotting papers. I have to say this stuff really worked!

I also tried the Fruit Infusions Smoothing Scrub ($6.99) with yumberry extract and antioxidants to help reveal healthy and smooth skin. The exfoliating cleanser has real strawberry seeds in it, so the label warns not to use the product if you have a strawberry allergy. It was a good exfoliator — I really didn’t think it would do such a good job, since the bits weren’t as abrasive (I guess that is the only way you think your exfoliator is working) but, it really left my skin soft and smooth. At such a good price, this is definitely a keeper as well.

I was really happy with the results of Clean & Clear’s products. This was my first time using any of the brand’s products and I have to say they really do work! I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, so I usually stick to facial products with acne-fighting ingredients. It’s a great line and hopefully the products can work for you as they did for me.
