Illamasqua’s tagline reads “Makeup for your alter ego” — and with Illamasqua, all things are possible! Their Spring 2012 Collection is called Human Fundamentalism — explained as an exploitation of your alter ego, all about becoming who you are and not who you are told to be.

It’s a belief that Illamasqua stands by their tagline, which is evidently shown through their product line: giving you so many options in which to explore; I wanted to touch and feel everything. I had waited in anticipation at my local Sephora this past Thursday to see the new products come in.

I knew I would be reviewing Illamasqua’s new Skin Base Foundation, so I wanted to be there when all of their products were coming into the store. As all of the makeup artists hovered around the new gondolas, so did I. When makeup artists like a brand, you know consumers will too!

I fell in love with number 08 Skin Base. It’s the first of its kind as it acts as a primer, liquid concealer and foundation — and melts right into my skin. I didn’t even use under-eye concealer in the after photo as I didn’t feel as if I needed to. That in itself made me happy. It was easy to blend and what I really loved was that it gave my skin an overall warm tone and radiance. My pink skin was gone and a new glow took its place. It felt hydrating and has been proven to be undetectable in a professional high definition environment. You can see why when you look at my after photo: my skin appears flawless.
