BeautyStat couldn’t believe all the edgy yet soon-to-be-classic hairstyles seen on the runways, with all the looks paying homage to some of our favorite hairstyles: braids, updos and ponytails. The Number 5 spot goes to the modern French twist seen at the Korto Momolu show using NIOXIN hair products. Modern yet refined.

At Number 4 we found that the milkbraid updo at Misha Nonoo captivated the crowd with its folksy rendition of a classic look. Hairstylist Marcos Diaz added to the Frida Kahlo-inspired look by weaving in pieces of fabric into the models’ hair. Adding that innocent touch of glamour!

The Number 3 hair look that we love finds us taking a new spin on an easy-to-do classic: the updo. But, this time, Frédéric Fekkai made the look for Vera Wang’s collection show different with textured, almost fabric-like hair building a high hair turban. A look that anyone can achieve regardless of their hair length.

The Number 2 hair spot gives that “Did-she-shave-one-side-of-her-head-or-not?” look, without having to part with your luscious locks! TRESemmé created a faux undercut hair effect at the Tracy Reese show giving new meaning to the bedhead look with an 80’s-inspired twist.

Drumroll, please! The Number 1 hair look that we loved from NY Fashion Week goes to Marchesa’s Spring/Summer ’13 Collection, combining our love for braids and ponytails. Frédéric Fekkai‘s lead hairstylist, Renato Campora created a low-slung ponytail then wrapped braids around the crown of the head, tying them all together at the base of the ponytail. A hairstyle that will be around for a long time!
