Apply it to towel dried hair and blow dry or allow to air dry.

The Light Elements Defining Whip ($24) is another fan favorite! With its airy, whipped, waxy texture, it is perfect for all hair types, even men! It lets you create texture-and medium hold without adding weight or stickiness. Apply a small amount to palms, rub together to emulsify, and work through dry hair to add texture and hold. Another must have for the season, the Thickening Tonic ($28) works wonders for any hair type. Spray on thickening tonic thoroughly from roots to ends, in sections, then comb through to distribute evenly. Blow-dry your hair with a round brush, using a nozzle to direct the air down each section. Brush your dry hair into the style you want. If you don’t have time to blow dry, the amazing formula works while air drying too! Just spray some in whenever you need a boost, and tease hair at the root. You will have instant body without the weight, and the classic Aveda scent follows you around all day long.

Dry shampoos are all the rage, but the Shampure dry shampoo ($30) is a little different from the rest. The non-aerosol powder mist absorbs excess oil between shampoos. Unlike traditional dry shampoos that you spray to your roots, Aveda’s dry shampoo is a bit trickier. Tip bottle upside down. Return upright. Turn cap to expose nozzle. Lightly squeeze bottle to puff powder at roots. Massage powder into your scalp and restyle as desired. I found this process to take longer and distributing the product evenly a bit trickier. However, the oil absorption is amazing and the aroma, with 25 pure flower and plant essences, is nothing short off luxurious.

Air Control is a medium hold that won’t weigh down the hair or leave it crunchy. Control Force is a heavier hold — perfect for thicker hair or fancy hairstyles and the best against humidity.
