(Review) Elizabeth Arden Launches Eight Hour Cream Targeted Sun Defense Stick SPF 50

We love all sorts of sleek and portable. Travel kits, TSA-friendly creams, potions and lotions are the norm in the 21st century. Sunscreen has always been a warm weather priority, and we’ve covered latest launches that include MD SolarSciences and PCA Skin.

Elizabeth Arden, creators of Prevage and the timeless Eight Hour Cream, have blessed us with a sleek Eight Hour Cream Targeted Defense Stick with SPF 50. This stick targets sensitive and over-exposed areas and scars, and helps protects skin from the UVA and UVB rays.

We love that it is oil-free and PABA free, and water-resistant too. It contains Vitamin E, Avobenzone (a key UVA filter) and Oxybenzone (both a UVA ad UVB filter). We’ve written before about how SPF 50 is about as high as you need to get (SPF 50 has only slightly more statistical significance than SPF 30). In fact, 93% of the UVA and UVB rays are screened out using just SPF 15.

Why we like this stick is that it’s really and truly non greasy and portable. The size of a chubby lipstick, it has a sleek swivel design and is perfect for touch ups. While we only reviewed the stick ($20), we’d like to acknowledge the rest of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Sun Team family:

– There is an Intensive Daily Moisturizer with SFP 50 for daily use ($35);

– An Eight Hour Cream Sun Defense for Face SPF ($30);

– A Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15 ($17);

– A Lip Protectant Stick with Sheer Tint SPF 15 in four sheer shades in Berry, Blush, Honey and Plum ($17);

– An Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant ($17).

All these retail online in June at Elizabeth Arden or on counters.
