Glamnetic Magnetic Eyelashes

Some years ago, I went to a makeup artist for an application of false lashes. She applied them one or two at a time; it took an hour and cost over one hundred dollars – real splurge. The lashes didn’t last too long and once they started coming out, there was no putting the back on myself. But the effect was so va-va-voom that I never forgot it.

Fast forward to my receiving a box with five, count ’em five, boxes of Glamnetic Lashes to review. Needless to say, I was pumped! Here was a way to get that luscious, Bambi-eyed look without investing so much money or time.

Some background on the company – Glamnetic Lashes was founded by Los Angeles based artist and entrepreneur, Ann McFerran. Glamnetic is “committed to providing the highest quality products and experience to customers and finding ways to continually make your beauty routine easier.” They make many kinds of false lashes, some synthetic (and vegan) and others from mink. Since the process of putting them on/removing them was essentially the same, I am going to describe and itemize the lashes that I was sent to sample.

The application process starts with the Glamnetic Liquid Magnetic Eyeliner, which is sold separately (see description below). Best applied in a thick, even line, the liner is easy to use, even for someone like me who does not use liquid liner all that often. I then waited for about thirty seconds and pressed on the lashes. I tried using tweezers but found my fingers were better. While there is a lash applicator mentioned on the website, I wasn’t sent one to try so I can’t comment on that.

In any case, the application was super easy. All the lashes seemed to lock into place and there they stayed all day, all evening, even through a very bouncy, sweaty YouTube cardio workout (gym closed for the foreseeable future). The technology is indeed revolutionary and remarkable. The lashes came off just as easily, though the liner was a bit stubborn and took some effort to remove. Still, it’s a small price to pay for such a lush, lavish look. It also occurred to me that you could snip the lashes – carefully, with manicure scissors – to customize them in terms of length or volume though I have not tried this yet.

Here is a run down of the lashes I tried but keep in mind the website offers even more options:

Virgo | $29.99

Made from top quality synthetic fibers, Virgo looks all-natural but is totally vegan friendly. The faux mink is said to look and act just like the real thing. I found them lightweight and fluffy; they had a nice curl. This was one of the more natural looks and I would wear it during the day.

Key Features:

  • Length: 12mm
  • Band with: 2.8 cm
  • Material: High-quality synthetic fiber
  • Comes with special magnetic case for safe-keeping

Lucky Lash | $29.99

Natural-looking but a little more glam. Made from vegan-friendly, synthetic fiber, this lash has a slight cat-eye shape — longer at the outside and shorter on the inside, and tapering from 12-13 mm for subtle style. They are perfect for amping up your look without being too over the top. These would be good for a night out – when we can have nights out again! Lucky Lash was the company’s first-ever vegan magnetic lash and can be used on the eyes up to 40 times or even more if you are careful.

Key Features:

  • Length: 12-33 mm
  • Band width: 3.2 cm
  • Material: High-quality synthetic fiber
  • Comes with special magnetic case for safe-keeping

Lavish Lash | $29.99

With its wispy, round shape, and semi-natural look, the Lavish Lash is made from premium mink so it’s soft, fluttery, and lightweight.

Key Features:

  • Length: 16mm
  • Band width: 3.0 cm
  • Material: 100% premium mink
  • Comes with special magnetic case for safe-keeping

A rounded shape and subtly criss-crossed fibers give the Lavish Lash a really lavish look. Super full and long, they’re a glamorous choice. They can be used up to 30 times, which means they cost about a dollar per wear. I thought these were great but I probably wouldn’t wear them often – just a bit too much lash for me.

EcstasyX | $27.99 (Reg. $37.99)

Fully-dyed, these colorful premium mink lashes are hot pink with purple ombre roots. The lashes taper from 10mm to dramatic 14mm to create the ultimate cat-eye shape. Made for unforgettable nights with the squad. This is a limited edition, so once it sells out, it’s gone. I thought this look would be too over the top for me but to my surprise, I liked it. I have green eyes and the pink of the lashes really made them stand out. It’s not a natural look, but when you’re in the mood for drama, it’s perfect.

Key Features:

  • Made from 100% premium mink hair
  • Length: 10-14 mm
  • Band width: 2.9 cm
  • Dyed with non-fading environmentally friendly pigments to ensure long-lasting color
  • 6 magnets for maximum hold, can be trimmed to any length
  • Good for up to 40 uses if properly cared for
  • Comes with special magnetic case for safe-keeping

Luxe Lash | $29.99

Crafted from pure mink, these natural looking lashes are lightweight enough to wear all day, every day. The Luxe Lash has a cat-eye shape, which makes it especially flattering for Asian eyes – it totally compliments their natural almond shape. Each of the individual mink lashes are separate to give them a wispy, flirty look. They can last for 40 or more uses. This was another style that I would wear on a regular basis.

Key Features:

  • Length: 13-14 mm
  • Band with: 3.0 cm
  • Material: 100% premium mink

Liquid Magnetic Eyeliner | $37.99

The Glamnetic Magnetic Eyeliner is the magic that holds the Glamnetic lashes in place. The innovative formula requires minimal waiting time and provides all day and all night hold. Its highly pigmented matte black color stands out and the small applicator tip glides on easy to make cat-flicks and smokey effects a breeze. With its built-in brush, it was easy to apply – no different than any other eyeliner. It is also smudge-proof and water-proof. Unlike regular liner, you need two layers to get ultimate magnetism. You can use your regular eyeliner underneath the magnetized one, if you prefer. I was sent the classic black matte but there are other colors to choose from as well.

Bottom line: this is a great new addition to the eyelash game, so get ready to bat yours in style.
