Fashion Week Spring Summer 2011 Oases: Cocktails and Couture, Robert Verdi's Suite

New York Spring Summer 2011 Fashion Week descended upon the already glittering city, and each show was like a pearl necklace: timeless, instantly chic, and an emblem of decadence at its finest.

In the madness of dashing from backstage to backstage, show to show like some chic yet hunted animal, it was heart-warming to seek refuge in the pleasure of other bloggers’ company. One such event, Cocktails and Couture, is an annual staple, attracting the industry’s well-heeled mavens like bees to honey.

Organized by Lianne Farbes of The Makeup Girl and Kristin Booker of Fashion Style Beauty (above) the event was held at Ted Gibson’s salon and sponsored by Starbucks, HTC Aria, Visine, Ralph Lauren and Lierac Skincare among others (read the full list here).

The place was buzzing with elegant ladies and people taking the time to unwind, as though the set of Gossip Girl had loosened up a bit. From carefully-curated signage to chilled bottles of champagne, everything was in place to guarantee guests a spoiled, rockin’ good time. It was terrific to catch up with beauty bloggers like Nancy from Beauty411, Jennifer Walsh and hair genius Jenna Muller (below):

Another oasis from the craze of Fashion Week was style guru, Robert Verdi’s suite. His haven becomes a Metropolitan Museum of Art of all sorts of hip indispensables, housing treats like the following: Nigel Barker’s book, Beauty Equation; Coca Cola bottles each paired with a sparkling color-coded ring, new Acuvue TrueEye contact lenses (you could record your own You Tube video talking about why you love Fashion Week); Blue Print Cleanse, Vintage Revolution Jeans (I fell in LOVE with the new, camel-colored twill jeans); Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas (who gave me such a terrific blowout), and Panasonic Irons (the new, cordless iron is pure, lightweight perfection and oh-so portable).

Aren’t these paired bottles and rings to die for?

You could also stop by to get Ginger + Liz manicures (and if you haven’t checked out their gourmet-licious palette of thick, gooey colors, you should!).

The tireless Ashley Mallinson & the too tired I

Thank you, Robert Verdi & Team, for creating such a warm and caring place that reminds us of Cheers (sometimes you wanna go…where everybody knows your name…and they’re always glad you came…).

Fashion Week wouldn’t be the same without you!
