BeautyStat's First New York Fashion Week Inspired Makeup Competion: Finalists - Vote For The Best Look - Sponsored By Make Up For Ever

As New York’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has come to a close, we’ve narrowed 12 fabulous finalists in our latest Makeup Contest.

This is our Third Overall Makeup Contest and First Fashion Week Inspired Makeup Competition.

Each of the finalist chosen gave us their best headshot that reflects their Fashion Week personality.

The prizes are sponsored by Make Up For Ever and include some of our latest beauty obsessions. The WINNER will receive a grand prize pack worth $250, and will include the following items:

Runway Show That Inspired This Look: Chado Ralph Rucci/ Fall 2010 Runway

EYES: All MAC products:

Espresso eye shadow – Used to fill in the eyebrows.

Groundwork Paint Pot – Applied on the inner, middle, and outer part of lid. This is a neutral base that is going to make the eye shadow stick to the lid and also allow the color to show brightly.

All That Glitters eye shadow – Over top of Groundwork paint pot in the inner half of lid only pat and pack the color on.

Embark eye shadow – On the outer crease work the color in with a 217 blending brush in an outer V formation.

Blacktrack Fluidline Eye liner gel – *artistic part* used for the cat eye

Smolder eye khol pencil – Line the waterline and lower lash line.

In my photo I used a wide range of makeup brands. My key products that I used was MAC primer, MAC eye-shadow, Glittery eye-shadows from Syria, Liquid Revlon Color stay eyeliner (black), Victoria Secret’s blue glitter eyeliner, MAC Zoom Blast mascara & last but not least Maybaliene Mineral Blush . This make up look was inspired from the Christian Dior Fall 2011 Runway show because of all the beautiful blues, violets, and purples. I chose more of an Arabian look of makeup because I love the way this look shapes the eye. Since the clothing line was filled with dark, deep colors I decided to throw in some lighter shades to make the eyes pop. Nothing is more beautiful then bright eyes.

This pic also has a flawless complextion, but lighter lips, and the colors are light and simple with dramatic eyeliner. I wanted the eyes to be the focus of the picture especially the liner. I was inspired by Dior runways, which usually have a lot of focus on the lashes or intersting eyeliner patterns. I was also inspired by sultry fall looks for this look because of the white shimmer and slight pale-ness.

The runway looks that inspired me were the Betsy Johnson for spring of 2012.

was inspired by celebrity make-up artist Ashunta Sheriff. More specifically, I loved her work at the Catherine Malandrino show. While many shows aim for over the top, I tend to be more attracted to the timeless beauties in Fashion – isn’t that in a way the most over the top? This is exactly what I think of when I look at her work. How gorgeous is this masterpiece? (Photo 1)
