I’ve been a big big fan of COVERGIRL’S LashBlast mascara, so I was quite twitterpated when CoverGirl announced that its latest mascara — LashBlast Fusion — was introduced today! There you have it, fresh and hot off the press and too hot for skinny lashes to even have an excuse to exist.

A bouquet of lipsticks from Rimmel? Yes please. The UK-based company is launching a set of six lipsticks with intense pigment and long lasting power called Color Show Off.
Check out the eye-popping, richer than sorbet colors here:
The 13 shades are grouped into three sets called “Street Chic,” “Dress Up Chic,” and “Show Time Chic.” Some of the lipsticks have pretty groovy names too, like Have Fun, Pink Fame, Red Fever and I Want You.
I’ll make sure I post swatches as soon as these beauties hit the U.S. stores.
I was definitely expecting Zoe Saldana to wear blue at the 2010 Oscars (Na’vi Princess, where art thou?), but I was swept away by the lavender-lilac-amethyst-purple-violet Givenchy couture number that she ended up wearing on the red carpet.
Her hair was done in a super chic updo, created by TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist Mara Roszak. Roszak wanted ”an editorial look because she was wearing Givenchy. We also didn’t want the hair and make up to compete with the dress so we created an elegant but effortless look.”
Here’s how you can recreate Saldana’s Oscars 2010 red carpet ‘do:
1. It’s all about prepping the hair with mousse! I am a huge fan of the TRESemme Naturals line, and was pleased to find that Roszak had prepped damp hair with TRESemmé Naturals Lightweight Mousse. Then she blow dryed her hair upside down.
2. Roszak separated the crown from the rest of the hair and pulled back the sides into a tight pony. Then she pulled the hair almost all the way through but left the ends tucked into a ponytail holder. Note that it wasn’t a PERFECT ponytail, with a few pieces left outside the bun for a slightly messy look.
3. Then she teased the top part of the hair and criss crossed bobby pins to hold the hair in place securely. She also sprayed Saldana’s updo with TRESemmé TRES TWO Extra Hold Hair Spray.
4. Here’s a stylist secret! Spray hairspray on finger tips and gently pull the hair around the face with your fingers to loosen the hair, giving it an organic effortless look.
Tonight, a la the Black Eyed Peas, is gonna be a good night. But the makeup trends create the faces that “launch a thousand movie tickets.” Here are what the celebrity makeup artists are saying about trends and looks for the Oscar 2010 Beauty trends tonight.
Oscar 2010 Beauty Trend Prediction #1: Classic Beauty and Old Hollywood Style Glamour
Celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine says, “I think the most popular/prominent look on the red carpet this year will be classic beauty statements. If we see color, it will be blush tones and soft roses instead of deep shades of red or vibrant shadow statements. I think this beauty speaks directly to the recession and reflects a more subtle beauty that many women can relate to.”

We are seeing a lot of sparkle and sheen for Summer 2010, and Barielle’s new Summer 2010 High Steppin’ Collection come six shades — all for the inner dancer in you:
The dark blue Electric Boogie (inky blue with teal glitter) gives you a memory trip back to the 1970s; dance your summer evenings with your significant other by wearing Slow Motion (light metallic lavender); let it all down with Freestyle (metallic mint with silver glitter); swirl ballet-style in Passionate Pirouette (a grape metallic purple); unlease your inner party animal with Night Moves until dawn (sparkling metallic silver); and go limbo with Belly Dance (nude taupe with shimmer).
We will post swatches as soon as we get the actual polishes, but for now, I’m digging Freestyle and Belly Dance and cannot wait to see how they salsa on my digits.
Barielle’s polishes are all formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl-phthalate free and each retails for $8.00 at Barielle.com.
With its talking rabbits, mystical creatures, and fire-breathing dragons, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland truly transports you into a fairytale state of mind. The film was directed by Tim Burton, a true visual artist, who is known most famously for his films Edward Scissorhands, Beetle Juice and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All of his movies feature stunning graphics and effects that are unlike any other. Alice in Wonderland sparks Burton’s seventh movie collaboration with actor Johnny Depp, who is amazing as The Mad Hatter in this film. But when is Johnny Depp not amazing? Full of vividly bright colors and wildly fantastic scenery, Alice in Wonderland will have you wondering if you’ve fallen down that rabbit hole.
In keeping with the imaginative theme of the movie, Organix has created the Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Shampoo and a complementing Conditioner. Organix, the fast growing hair care brand, is known for their innovative ingredients and sensual flavors. This shampoo and conditioner duo is a blend of cherry blossom extracts, Asian ginseng root, rice milk and bamboo extracts that promise to add volume to the roots while adding hydration and shine. I ran home to test out the products after I saw the movie and I am loving the results. And an added bonus: my hair smells incredible! The hair styling in the movie featured loose, flowing curls full of shine and body which was a perfect compliment to the ethereal feel of this film.
It looks like the shimmer and glimmer trend is extending well into the warmer months of the year — on your nails, that is. Zoya Nail Polish’s new Flash and Sparkle Collection for Summer 2010 is all about creamy summer colors as well as radiance the size of Mariah Carey’s 2008 17 carat $2.5 million engagement ring which seemed larger to me than the Pink Panther.
The shades sound great and look glinty:

What shades are you dying to try?
Regardless of how you’ll be celebrating (or not-celebrating) Date Night, women everywhere seem to go on the quest for the ultimate red lipstick.
To help you wade through the masses, I’ve come up with a Red Roundup that has a little something for everyone…

e.l.f. Cherry Bomb Lip Gloss
For the budget-conscious, and just a twinge of redness- e.l.f. cosmetic’s $1 Candy Shop lip gloss in Cherry Bomb.

L’Oreal Colour Juice lipstick in Cherry Freeze
Love haunting the drugstore beauty aisles? L’Oreal Colour Juice Stick in Cherry Freeze is a cool-toned red that can go on super sheer, or be layered for a much deeper red.
Well, it really was bound to happen. With American Apparel launching their own line of nail lacquers to Target and Walmart expanding their beauty offerings, you knew it wouldn’t be long since the fashion-forward Kate Moss-inspired clothing store TopShop started offering cosmetics.
The news broke in today’s edition of WWD, and in a nutshell, the beauty offerings will come in two varieties: a core line (97 skus), and a seasonally inspired line.
The pencil line etchings on the outerwear of the packaging gives you a doodled version of the contents inside. So Le Petit Prince and kids books in a way, where there’s a certain glamor to the naivete of the packaging.
No one expects a crop of heavy perfume for spring and summer, but the perfumers have outdone themselves to bring to life fruity florals with unexpected notes like tomato leaf and green tea. Sambac jasmine, patchouli, and musk also make appearances in more than one product. I recently sampled the latest olfactory offerings. I might have been lying in a field of artistically arranged wildflowers.
For an intense burst of sunshine, Aqua di Parma’s Blu Mediterraneo new scent, Bergamotto di Calabria. This eau de toilette with top notes of bergamot (surprise,) a middle of cedar wood and red ginger, and a base of vetiver, Benzoin, and musk made me want to curl up and take a nap in an orange grove. It’s available at sephora.com in 60ml ($70) and 120ml ($106), as well as a soft body cream ($67) for layering.
Givenchy has debuted an alluring segment to its Ange ou Demon collection with Le Secret. While definitely coming down on the “Ange” side of fence, this innovative floral uses its top notes of Italian winter lemon, cranberry, and green tea leaves to make a fresh impression. The heart of sambac jasmine, white peony, and water flowers flows seamlessly into the base of blond woods, patchouli, and white musk. This eau de parfum comes as 30ml ($51,) 50ml ($73,) and 100ml ($95,) at Macy’s, Dillard’s, Sephora, and GivenchyBeauty.com.
