MAC Liberty of London Lipstick Swatches

When I first saw the fabrics from Liberty of London, my heart skipped a beat. These prints — so pretty, so Alice in Wonderland and so flowery — reminded me of books that I had read in childhood, and loved: Enid Blyton (whom many of you won’t know because she’s a British author who seems to be the best kept secret since the Illuminati code), and of course, Lewis Carroll.
Everything about Liberty of London is so British — and yet, so universal. As I mentioned to you before, the packaging …

Clarins doing makeup for the Summer? I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read about it. The name, Instant Sunlight, is particularly clever and makes me think of lazy, languid beach-filled days on Fire Island and the Hamptons.
The mochas and browns in the Clarins Instant Sunlight Makeup Eyeshadow Palette have summer spice written all over them:

The collection also has a Smoothing Luminating Compact in Natural and Bronze:

There are three Click & Gloss Lip Glazes in Vanilla, Coral & Cinnamon:

FusionBeauty has been known to hype pretty girls’ lips (my lips are still ballooning, Angeline-style, thanks to the original LipFusion). Now the brand is launching a set of four new shine glosses as part of its new “Luxe Boudoir” LipFusion Capsule Collection.

The four new glosses have a shimmer effect and also link to a charity called “Kiss Away Poverty” which receives a dollar from every sale of LipFusion Color Shine (each gloss retails for $29, so they aren’t cheap).
Kim Kardashian will be the face of this new collection, as well as the …

A bouquet of lipsticks from Rimmel? Yes please. The UK-based company is launching a set of six lipsticks with intense pigment and long lasting power called Color Show Off.

Check out the eye-popping, richer than sorbet colors here:

The 13 shades are grouped into three sets called “Street Chic,” “Dress Up Chic,” and “Show Time Chic.” Some of the lipsticks have pretty groovy names too, like Have Fun, Pink Fame, Red Fever and I Want You.
I’ll make sure I post swatches as soon as these beauties hit the U.S. stores.

I’ve always been a big fan of Estee Lauder’s lipstick offerings. Their Holiday Red collection had me at Hillary Rhoda’s campaign photo, and I still swear by the signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick in Spanish Red.

Original Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick in Spanish Red

So I was excited to learn that the company will debut a “Love Your Lips” limited edition of 12 Signature Hydra Lustre Lipsticks and four Lip Glosses just in time for Valentine’s Day. The lipsticks and tubes have golden “LOVE” symbols dancing all around them like sweet and …

My love affair with lace started early in life. Growing up, my mom who is a talented seamstress, custom made all of my special occasion dresses to my specifications – and each dress had a bit of lace at my request. There was the communion dress with a lace skirt and matching bag. The green satin dress with white polka dots and lace bib (please forgive me for this creation – Laura Ingalls wore a version on Little House on the Prairie except she passed on the polka dots and …

We’ve seen them: the Scarlett Johanssens, the Michelle Obamas of the world, and we covet.
Chances are that the signature behind a look is the lip color: after all, who doesn’t notice Gwen Stefani or Lady Gaga’s pout?
Here is our SWAK Gift Guide for you (yes, we have gone to all the trouble of getting you the exact swatch and shade to replicate Screen Siren style):
Michelle Obama:

The first lady certainly varies up the lip shade, but we found something similar you can try at home:

Gwen Stefani may always look flawless with that pouty red lip everywhere she goes but every woman will agree that it’s hard to look like her without frequent touchups. Estee Lauder has introduced the Double Wear Lipsticks and Lip Pencils for the Gwen Stefani in all of us.

These Stay-in-Place Lipsticks ($22) and Lip Pencils ($19) are not only luxurious and as creamy as silk, they are designed to up to 12 hours. The way this lipstick ousts the competition is through long-wearing flexible film formers that deliver a perfect layer of …
