Review, Photos, Swatches: Lancôme: Roserie des Delices Spring 2012 Makeup Collection by Aaron Del Mey

Lancôme’s Artistic Director for MakeUp Aaron Del Mey has launched a new Spring 2012 featuring soft pastel hues that are reminiscent of a bouquet of fresh flowers. Pale pinks and soft greens once again dominate the Spring 2012 palettes.

The two Limited Edition palettes I swatched were Lancôme Color Design 5 Pan Palette and Liner in Rose Romance and Vert Tendresse both retailing at $ 48.00 per palette.

I especially liked the brushes that came with the palettes. The one that was intended to be used as a liner was able to …

Opinion: On Beauty Advertisements, Zero Airbrushing and Misleading Claims

If you think your eyelashes can touch your eyebrows just from using a new mascara, think again. Read the small print on some of the ads saying that lash inserts were used.
For all the people who look up to these beautiful images seen in magazine ads and on larger than life billboards across America, I can tell you first hand that lighting and retouching play a very large part in creating these images. I have witnessed great makeup artists do incredible work right in front of me yet I know …

Celeb Beauty Trend: The Lady Gaga Eye Effect: How to Achieve this Look Using Makeup, instead of Contact Lenses

If you see past the dancers in latex and lace, Lady Gaga bats her borderline cartoonish eyes at the world in the scene with her in the bathtub. Although her look in the video was mainly computer generated, Gaga is not the first pop star to debut “Gaga Eyes.” The …

Lancome Juicy Tubes Turns 10, Celebrates Earth Day with Natural Origin Lip Gloss

As Earth Day turns 40, Lancome’s Juicy Tubes turns 10 years old. Happy Birthday (or un-birthday, if you’ve been watching too much Alice as I have) to both our generous planet and to Lancome Juicy Tubes!
We’ve been huge fans of the Juicy Tubes ever since they debuted, and we swear we’ve collected them over the years like museum pieces, gloss by gloss and flavor by flavor. This is a guest post from my lovely friend, Diane Az from The Beauty Alchemist.

Chris Benz’s inspiration for Fall 2010 Fashion Week was the Outward Bound Debutante. The girl who gets in trouble at her private school and gets sent to wilderness camp. You know her, the one who takes her stillettos , not realizing she’ll not quite need those.

While backstage I not only got to meet the friendly and extremely calm Mr. Benz , but also a peek at a few pieces hanging on the racks. I love …

Move over Rose Byrne. There’s a new rose in town and it’s called Lancome’s O My Rose Collection, which is bursting with peach-tones for the cheeks, a deeper coral/peach for the lips and a mix between teal and slate blue smoky eyeshadow for the eyes.

The collection is from Aaron de Mey, with the key product being the Pop N’ Cheeks in Coral Flirt, which is a peach blush shade that makeup artist Daniel Martin used at the Chris Benz show. The Color Design Limited Edition Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad retails …
