Exclusively from Asia, Lancôme introduces the new Génifique Youth Activating Second Skin Mask ($80.00). According to the manufacturers, it takes only a single application to “see more radiant, luminous and smoother skin.”
Each mask contains the same amount of product, as half of a 1 oz. bottle of Génifique Concentrate. Combining Lancôme‘s patented Génifique complex and expertise in bio-cellulose technology, Lancôme claims this mask “treats your skin to a new kind of indulgence.”
Because the pre-cut mask adheres to the contours of your face, it provides a “harmonious and intense infusion of …

First things first: I love using the Glo Brilliant Personal Teeth Whitening Device, yet, it was given to me and costs nearly $200.00 at Sephora – and I buy my refills for $45.00 when needed.
It works. It’s won awards and is incredibly efficient. With that being said, I agreed to sample the Prime Time Smile Active Blue Teeth Whitening Kit ($44.00) because it was more affordable and was said to whiten teeth in less than 30-minutes!
It’s an easy enough product to use. You first apply the whitening gel via a pen …

Have you heard? BeautyStat.com’ s Ron Robinson was quoted yet again (last mentioned here in Makeup Expiration Dates) in The New York Times this week for their story entitled ‘Promises From The Powder Room.’
The article talks about how powder foundations, pressed powders and the like have revolutionized their formulations to provide age-defying, acne-fighting, light-reflecting and many more positive skincare benefits. Powders no longer give off that chalky, heavy look, nowadays, facial powder foundations are providing HD-worthy skin surface perfection and wrinkle-fighting ingredients.

Seems that nowadays women crave full, luscious lips! Well, I remember growing up hating mine — the taunts, jokes (bubba lips, liver lips – you name it, I heard it!)… Well, look who’s laughing now!

One thing I do know (aside from curls) is lips! Thanks to Angelina Jolie, I’ve learned not to be ashamed but to actually love and play up my lovely feature — and embrace my plunger pucker! I am making it a point this summer to add more color… to my face!(?) Gone are the days of muted, safe browns and every neutral color I currently covet — with every in-between shade of champagne you can think of.
No more sheer reds on my lips. I’m going for some bright peach and look-at-me fuchsia! That’s it! I’ve been inspired by Make Up For Ever’s New Aqua Summer 2013 Collection!
Bright, juicy shades of pinks and corals make up the latest Aqua Rouge ($24.00) shades for summer. Five new vibrant …

In recent beauty news, it appears that some of your personal care products could be affecting your health. But, after reviewing the UFC-Que Choisir’s (the Western European nonprofit consumer association) article online, I believe their concerns are valid and their analysis of 66 products is accurate.
The “endocrine disrupters” (which affect hormone production) found in the products were preservatives, anti-bacterial agents, sunscreens and emollients. Levels of these disrupters were also determined.
Que Choisir wrote that they compared the level of propylparaben in Nivea Water Lily & Oil Shower Gel (0.00268%) to the Scientific Committee on …

Before The Great Gatsby hits theater on May 10th, get Daisy Buchanan‘s makeup (played by lead actress Carrie Mulligan, sided by the one and only Leonardo DiCaprio) from this latest novel-to-the-big-screen romantic drama.
As you can see, Daisy’s makeup is very delicate and feminine, but holds power at the same time. The story takes place during the 1920′s, but in this modern film version of The Great Gatsby, the makeup does not take on the particular extreme-retro look that was seen in this era of the ‘20s.
It is modified into more …
