You’ve heard much of the Brazilian Blowout over the last year. Nicole Richie swears it’s freed her from having to blow dry her gorgeously glossy head of hair. Vogue calls it “seriously liberating.”
Well, I for one have been “seriously intrigued,” so when Allan’s Salon invited me in for the treatment, I didn’t think twice.
What exactly is the Brazilian Blowout?
First things first. According to the official site, the Brazilian Blowout is the only professional smoothing treatment that gives you smooth, shiny, frizz free hair without using any harsh …

Sometimes, you wake up and realize you’ve gone far too long between salon appointments, and worse, you don’t foresee making it there in the reasonable future either. You have weeks of frizzy, badly-behaved hair with no redeeming hope in sight. And by ‘you,’ I mean ‘I,’ of course. With this bad hair month in mind, I tested Redken’s Real Control Slim Supreme Slimming Serum (www.redken.com for salons).
The serum packs cationic conditioners, protein, ceramide, and shea butter to hydrate, then smooth the hair cuticle, temporarily reducing volume …

As the world predicted, Sandra Bullock shed her Miss Congeniality-esque role to win the “Best Actress” Oscar for The Blind Side but pretty much used her staple movie look when it came to the hairstyle. The stylists at Frederic Fekkai wanted to bring back the simplicity of Sandra’s hair (as seen in countless films from “While you Were Sleeping” to “Speed”). Deja Vu with a touch of Hollywood glam seemed to be in vogue last night at the 2010 Oscars.
The stylists at Fekkai gave her a sleek look with a slight wave …

I didn’t see too much of the Star Trek actress during the actual 2010 Oscar Awards but I’m digging her Old Hollywood hair at the Vanity Fair Oscars party hosted by Graydon Carter held at Sunset Tower on Sunday (March 7) in Hollywood.
She wore a strapless grey dress with ruffles (of course) and $90 shoes from Aldo. Her hair was done by Nexxus Creative Director Kevin Mancuso, who said that he “really wanted to give her a Bridget Bardot meets Audrey Hepburn style.”
After prepping the hair with Nexxus shampoo and …

I have to say that Diane Kruger’s dress was probably my least favorite (on par with Charlize Theron) on the Oscars 2010 red carpet. The Inglorious Basterds star was decked head to toe in creamy Chanel, with layers of embroidered chiffon separated by ribbons of black lace. I did love the halter-style neck but the entire dress made her look like a 1920’s flap dress/swan of some kind and I wasn’t feeling that the vintage vibe was really going for her.

The makeup for the Rebecca Taylor Fall 2010 Fashion Show revolved around the eyes.
Makeup artist Rie Omoto for MAC was inspired by a tough, yet feminine NYC girl. “The look is so easy. When you walk down the street in New York and you see that girl.” But while it is feminine but tough and different, it’s not trying too hard. This girl knows what she wants to wear with the hair and makeup and she just does it. Easy and simple (shall we call …

Jill Stuart Fall Fashion 2010 Backstage Beauty: Hair & Makeup
Think Kate Moss circa now (2010) after a rock and roll evening with grungy, messy hair and a very sexy cat eye. Stylist Bob Recine for TIGI rocked a very moussy, texturized grungy look backstage at Jill Stuart’s Fall 2010 show. The makeup was done by Charlotte Tilbury using Jill Stuart’s own line of cosmetics (aren’t they princess like?). The makeup collection itself limited, but you can see the shimmery eyeshadows and mattifying foundations below:
