Natural makeup artist Tina Turnbow for tarte Cosmetics derived her inspiration from Old Hollywood commingled with ethereal naturalist. The result was Farmiga’s very feminine beauty with a healthy flush. A mix of warm and cool tones inspired by nature provided the palette.
Turbow said, “I love Vera’s porcelain complexion, so I wanted to keep it simple with a sheer foundation and lightweight mineral powder.”
She used:
* tarte’s smooth operator tinted moisturizer SPF 20 in façade
* tarte’s provocateur mineral pressed powder SPF 8 in fair
* For the cheeks she provided “just a pop …

We saw ruffles, lilac gowns, shimmery makeup and loose curls. The main trend takeaway from the Golden Globes is a focus on the romantics and hints of glint, not to mention the strong red/ coral lipstick.
James Vincent, Director of Artistry of The Powder Group and The Makeup Show says, “Celebrities seek out professional stylists to keep it safe and to avoid seeing themselves in the worst dressed section of the tabloids, but the lack of risk taking has made makeup seem almost mundane.”
We agree with James that the red carpet …

We thought Carey Mulligan, star of “An Education” and Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama nominee looked as fresh as a rose. And incidentally,we learnt that that was the exact inspiration for the classic look created by MAC Cosmetics’ Director of Makeup Artistry, Gregory Arlt.
In his words: “My inspiration for Carey’s look for the Golden Globes was pure English Rose! I wanted to keep the skin luminous and cool with a sweet pink cheek, the eyes soft yet defined with gray metallic shadows, and the lips a ‘just bitten’ …

Sandra Bullock’s hair was styled by Adir Abergel for Frederic Fekkai. Abergel’s inspiration for Bullock was a 1930′s look with deep waves and interesting lines. We loved her bougainvillea colored gown. Here’s how to get her Golden Globes 2010 hairstyle:
Adir’s inspiration for Sandra was a modernized 1930′s look with deep waves and interesting lines.
Abergel started the look by parting the hair on an angle. He then blow-dried the hair adding Fekkai CoiffTM Perfecteur Anti-Frizz Silkening Crème for a completely smooth, frizz-free texture, which was actually a great move considering …

Fergei put aside all the need for chic updos and sported a Woodstock-style loose, flowing hairstyle. Her powder blue strapless dress and chic diamond bracelet sent a breezy and carefree message to an otherwise highly stylized red carpet.
We love her perfect pairing (both hair, minimalist makeup and dress). What are your thoughts?

I loved the chic simplicity of Kristen Bell’s white dress by Jasmine di Milowith. Her hair was pulled back unlike her Sarah Marshall days, and she wore a simple necklace to complement her ‘do.
Her white dress was a fresh color of relief from the sea of lilacs and lavenders that we saw on the red carpet.

Lights, camera, Las Vegas showgirl! Toni Collette, whom I have adored since I saw In Her Shoes and Little Miss Sunshine, literally lit up the red carpet with some serious wattage by wearing a glitzy glamorous gown with tons of beading. The dress and clutch were both by Elie Saab. Obviously she needed no accessories to adorn this kind of dress.

It was raining, and Emily Blunt’s hair characterized that tousled, carefree look. And her pale pink chiffon (ahem, and ruffled) strapless gown by Dolce & Gabbana looked both ethereal and romantic.
And since she’s engaged to John Krasinski, it’s apt that she does look romantic.
Emily Blunt’s hair was stylied with NO FRIZZ that contains the new anti-frizz molecule created by MIT scientists. It doesn’t leave hair looking wet or greasy.
Stylist Laini Reeves cut Blunt’s hair to shoulder length just for the Golden Globes and then created a curl that was blunt …

I really think Hendricks for me can do no wrong. From the time she entered the set of Mad Men to the time she stepped foot on the red carpet tonight at the Globes, she has had me totally electrified…
Can you tell that I absolutely adore her style?
She’s also wearing ruffles, one of the key trends of the evening. This peachy/ pale amber colored gown by Christian Siriano shows her puppies off a little more than I would like, but her electric russet colored hair and strawberry colored lips beautifully …

It was love at first sight when we saw Damages star Rose Byrne in her garnet /plum wine colored Lanvin sheath. We love her loose waves that remind us of the 1960′s romantic look and her waist brooch accent is just enough to make our hearts flutter. Notice she doesn’t wear any necklace – that’s bold! Go Rose!
What do you think?
