MAC Viva Glam Lipglass in Viva Glam Gaga and Cyndi for Fall 2010

Helping men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS worldwide are top of the list for these iconic musicians. Well, ladies, you’ve already gone nuts over the two Lauper and Gaga lipstick shades that were released in February, 2010, right? Come on… confess! We’re not here to judge.
Okay, even if you didn’t get with the Viva Glam program a few months ago, you’re going to love the Fall offerings so much more (we certainly do). The Viva Glam superstars, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper, have teamed up with MAC Cosmetics …

Feeling tribal? Then add a touch of Alexandre Herchcovitch to your Fall 2010 wardrobe.
It’s color without compromise, texture with spunk and PUNK. The makeup was done by Philip for MAC Cosmetics, who described the look as a tiny part punk, a tiny part tribal, but mostly beautiful as a 1970′s movie star.

He smudged Pro Pigment in Chocolate Brown on the upper lids, but dotted the lower lash line with Flat Orange and Electric Coral to get a sheer wash of color, as opposed to a stripe. After mixing bright …

This is a guest post from my lovely friend, Diane Az from The Beauty Alchemist.

Chris Benz’s inspiration for Fall 2010 Fashion Week was the Outward Bound Debutante. The girl who gets in trouble at her private school and gets sent to wilderness camp. You know her, the one who takes her stillettos , not realizing she’ll not quite need those.

While backstage I not only got to meet the friendly and extremely calm Mr. Benz , but also a peek at a few pieces hanging on the racks. I love …

Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs are a hot, hip young duo who graduated from the Parson’s School of Design. While they may be relative dilettantes in Fashion Week, their style stems from inspiration of films, photography. In their own words, the Cushnie and Ochs woman is no wallflower!

This season, the backstage beauty showcased a very flowing, loose flowing hair that was more gritty in texture (think elegant and disheveled … a bedhead-inspired mass of strands that still could be paired with elegant cocktail dresses and evening gowns).

The hair was done …

It was a look that I had seen in some “theme and variations” form throughout the Fall 2010 Fashion Week shows: pink matte lips, intense eye and a fair, almost “Swiss Heidi in the mountains” skin.

Tadashi’s clothes were inspired by Mother Earth, as seen from an airplane window. Hence the silver dresses, browns, greens and punches of colors in the clothes. “The textures and the pleatings are all inspired by the Earth,” says Tadashi. “Everything is wearable.”

Rodney Cutler, who did the hair for Tadashi, says the look for the show …

The two-toned lip is not something you’d expect to see in every day life. Unless you’re color blind, a MAC Cosmetics artist, or a member of Cirque du Soleil.
But this was precisely the beauty trompe l’oeil at Lepore’s Fall 2010 collection.
When she powwowed with her the hair and makeup stylists for her Fall 2010 show, Nanette Lepore brought a visual aide: a Renaissance painting. Makky for MAC and Esther Langham for Moroccan Oil let it guide their creative decisions for the show. After creating the now-standard perfect matte canvas of …

The designers Phillip and David Blond (shown below) are more leggy than Elle McPhereson and have celebrities like Rihanna and Adam Lambert as loyal followers.

Yesterday, the makeup look for the show was done by Kabuki for MAC Cosmetics and the look was very jungle princess. The nails were done by CND Co-founder Jan Arnold, along with talented nail artists Roxanne Valinoti, Angi Wingle, and Kristina Estabrooks.

Kabuki was inspired by Marlene Dietrich in the movie Blonde Venus who epitomized a chic yet glitzy glamor. …

The Makeup at Altazurra created by Tom Pecheux for MAC focused on a dark, glossy eye. Using Meeow Lipglass up to the brow, smudged with smolder eye pencil along lash line, and then smudging Fearless Lipstick (a burgundy shade) under the eye as liner – eyes took center stage.

Studio Fix Lash Mascara & groomed brows finished this look. Skin had a very clean finish and cheeks were natural. Lips were erased and toned down with foundation to make the eyes the center of attention. Going for a gentle …

The look for Alice & Olivia Fall 2010 was that of a young Parisian in the Spring (ironic, right?). Models were fresh faced and young, with lots of pinks and metallics with shades of smoky dusty rose. Gregory Arlt, Director of Makeup Artistry for MAC Cosmetics, created this refreshing look.

Arlt foresees Fall 2010 trends to include fresh faced looks and a focus on the lips in particular deep red lips. Check out his video on the look:

Master hair stylist Ric Pipino continued the Parisian theme …

The look at the Zang Toi Fall 2010 show revolved around a beautiful bold lip with simple pulled back hair in a twisted chignon.

Inspired by Hollywood, Napoleon Perdis created a luxurious purple lip contrasted with dewy skin and a simple eye using only eyeliner and mascara.
Create the look with the below Napoleon Perdis products and his video below:
