Read on to see some of our fave looks for S/S ’15, how to get them now and which products to use!

 Bold, Accented Eye Color

NYFW Bold Eyes SS15 NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Makeup Trends, Swatches: Bold Accented Color, Luminous Skin, Graphic Black Eyes, Flushed Cheeks - Review

(Left to Right): At Sally LapointeKabuki for MAC Cosmetics created a look inspired by “a palette cleanser of pastels… inspired by the lightness of a feather.” Eyes were refreshed and hydrated with Past Response Eye Cream for Cyan, Fuchsia and White eye shades; MAC Pro Lipmixes were to be applied on the eye with a fluffy brush for a stained effect.

Bold eyes at Peter Som Spring/Summer 2015 were inspired by iconic pop art from the 1960′s. Eyes were the dramatic focus, with Maybelline Color Tattoo Leathers 24HR Cream-Gel Shadow in Creamy Beige used as a base and Color Sensational Vivids Lipcolor in Vibrant Mandarin applied to the inner corners of the eyes, creating a sharp, graphic edge.

Inspired by the LA Flower Mart, Sarah Lucero for Stila Cosmetics chose makeup in a bouquet of colors for the Trina Turk SS’15 show. A soft finish for the eyes and lips were achieved by using the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Smudge Stick in Turquoise and Liquid Lipstick in Carina.

At the Dannijo Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, Maybelline’s Yadim created a modern tribal look in blue with Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments in Brash Blue across the eyelid to make the silver jewelry pop!

Luminous Skin

A healthy, sculpted face was achieved at Prabal Gurung with the help of Diane Kendal for MAC Cosmetics. The face was primed with Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer and contoured with Sculpt Sculpting Powder Pro Palette over cheekbones; Vanilla Pigment helped highlight the high planes of the face, including the brows, across the nose and over the upper cheekbones and chin.

Elisa Ferri for NARS Cosmetics (far right) wanted to create simple sensuality, “the way the morning light hits you as you wake up in your bedroom…” at the 3.1 Phillip Lim SS ’15 show. Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and Reckless Blush (New for Spring 2015; for now try New Order Blush) were applied to the cheeks (along with the right side of Jubilation Dual-Intensity Blush; New for Spring 2015; for now try South Beach Multiple).

Diane Kendal for Lancôme created creamy, dewy skin with a soft smoky eye for Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2015 Collection. Skin was hydrated with NEW! products including the Las Base Hydra Glow at the cheekbones, Nude Miracle Liquid to Powder Makeup, Absolue L’Extrait Ultimate Radiance Mist and Serum Ultimate Rejuvenating Concentrated Elixir. Cheeks had some subtle color with Blush Subtil Palette All-In-One Contour Blush & Highlighter in Nectar Lace.

marc jacobs ss14 nyfw no makeup
Leave it to Marc Jacobs to close NYFW with a literal “no makeup” makeup look. All François Nars used was NARSskin Luminous Moisture Cream on the models. “With Marc we always take it to the extreme, we’ve done bold looks in the past, but this season we wanted to make a statement by not applying anything.” Statement made.

For Dennis Basso, Avon Celebrity Makeup Artist  Jamie Greenberg created a look that balanced tonality and defined lines. She used a neutral palette to create a sleek finish that complimented the soft, romantic feel of the collection. Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Mocha, SuperShock Gel Eye Liner in Blackout and Avon Big & Daring Volume Mascara in Blackest Black helped set this classic eye look.

A dramatic, ultra-chic cat-eye was created at the Spring/Summer 2015 Cushnie Et Ochs show with Maybelline. Yadim applied Eye Studio Tattoo Leathers 24HR Cream-Gel Shadow in Dramatic Black to the upper eyelid, drawing the line out into a sharp, graphic edge. Once again, a glossy eye look was achieved by dabbing on some Baby Lips in Quenched over the eye.

A ‘60s Twiggy style look at Thom Brown with lashes, lashes and lashes! MAC Cosmetics Ebony Eye Pencil was drawn through the upper lash line to extend with an edge at the corners, then traced slightly over the crease of the eye to define, slightly blended for a ‘slept-in” effect. RapidBlack Penultimate Eye Liner was layered over the Ebony Pencil to darken and deepen the shape. Pure White Chromagraphic Pencil was applied in the waterline to open the eyes, along with 36 Lashes with 7 Lashes over the upper lash line.

A “warrior woman” is all about strength and power, as seen at Herve Leger with Val Garland for MAC Cosmetics. The eyes were strong and bold with MAC Pro Black Creme Liner used to draw a square-shaped graphic liner, creating a look of black electrical tape over the lid.

Masculine accents with a feminine twist were seen at Marissa Webb Spring/Summer 2015 with Maybelline. Yadim created a shiny, creamy springtime smoky eye using Master Kajal in Charcoal Skies all the way to the upper lid and Black Onyx close to the lash line. He added some Color Molten eye color shades (available Jan. 2015) in Midnight Morph and Sapphire Mist. And, of course, Baby Lips in Quenched on top of the eyelids made for some glossy eye sheen.

Flushed Cheeks

MAKEUP NYFW Flushed Cheeks NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Makeup Trends, Swatches: Bold Accented Color, Luminous Skin, Graphic Black Eyes, Flushed Cheeks - Review

NARS Director of Global Artistry James Boehmer created the effortless look at Creatures of the Wind SS’15. It was all about skater boys with great skin, lots of freckles and a left over summer-vacation look to them. James groomed the brows with Oural Brow Gel and gave the cheeks a “flushed, overheated look” using Ligueria Lipstick on cheeks (New for Spring 2015; for now, try Belle Du Jour Sheer Lipstick).

Jenny Packham’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection was inspired by legendary actress Marilyn Monroe. The show’s lead makeup artist, Talia Shobrook, channeled the icon in the creation of her “flawless bare” face to showcase healthy, beautiful skin. To highlight the cheekbone, Talia applied a combination of Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Linen and Laura Mercier Moisture Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen. She then used shades from the NEW! Laura Mercier Contour Kit (exclusive to Sephora in January 2015) and Laura Mercier Moisture Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen to contour the cheeks.

Thakoon SS ’15 wanted the girls to appear as if they were coming out of water, so the beauty look is all about the gloss on the eyelid, brushed up into the brow. Less is more for Diane Kendal of NARS Cosmetics: Triple X Lip Gloss (on eyelids) and Oural Brow Gel gave the models that wet look.

How To Get A Dreamy Daytime Makeup Look: Anna Kendrick At Toronto Film Festival – Taupe, Gray Smoky Eyes, Coral Cheeks, Neutral Pink Lip

"Cake" Premiere - 2014 Toronto International Film Festival How To Get A Dreamy Daytime Makeup Look: Anna Kendrick At Toronto Film Festival - Taupe, Gray Smoky Eyes, Coral Cheeks, Neutral Pink Lip

Hitting the red carpet for the hotly anticipated premiere of Cake at this year’s Toronto Film Festival, Anna Kendrick‘s look was created with one theme in mind — dreamy daytime. “Since this was a daytime premiere, we wanted to keep Anna‘s look a bit more demure than what you’d expect to see on a nighttime red carpet,” says Kendrick‘s Makeup Artist Toby Fleischman.

Lancôme Grandiose Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara – First-Of-Its-Kind Wand Provides Bigger, Brighter Eyes

“Going for a soft, pretty look, I smudged NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Dogon under the bottom lashes and into the corner of her lash line. The irridescent taupe eyeshadow blends beautifully into the gray, creating a very subtle smoke, perfect for daytime,” says Fleischman. She followed it up with a few coats of Lancôme Grandiose Mascara, one of her favorites, to get “just the right amount of drama.”

“We kept the rest of the face very subtle, using Pur Minerals Cream Blush in Coy, which melts right into the cheeks for a nude, flushed look. And last, but certainly not least, we finished the look off with Burt’s Bees NEW! Lip Crayon in Sedona Sands, which gives the absolute perfect neutral lip. The color is great on a variety of skintones, and the formula is super-moisturizing.”

NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Nail Polish Trends: Neutrals, Off-Whites, Classic Spring Reds, Forest Greens, Soft Pastel Looks, Swatches

Costello Tagliapietra Nails ss15 NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Nail Polish Trends: Neutrals, Off-Whites, Classic Spring Reds, Forest Greens, Soft Pastel Looks, Swatches
When it comes to nails at NYFW, you know BeautyStat is all over it! And so far, from what we’ve seen backstage, we can tell that the classic manicure will be taking on some subtle twists. We’ll be seeing more crepe and off-white nails (like the ‘whitened blue’ nail shade above; seen at Costello Tagliapietra using essie bikini so teeny and limo-scene) with a matte topcoat.

Murky forest greens, subdued melons and gray-tinged pastel shades also make a statement. Not to mention the technique of layering different nude and pastel nail colors for a rosy, plump appeal. Check out some of our favorite neutral nail looks so far for S/S ’15, what products to use and how to get these looks now!

BCBG:Alexander Wang NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Nail Polish Trends: Neutrals, Off-Whites, Classic Spring Reds, Forest Greens, Soft Pastel Looks, Swatches

At BCBGMAXAZRIA, Lead OPI Nail Artist Miss Pop painted models’ fingers and toes with one coat of OPI Base Coat followed by 2 coats of OPI‘s best-selling soft pink Bubble Bath. This sheer, neutral look complemented the collection’s bohemian silhouettes, muted pastel floral pieces and earthy tones. While at Alexander Wang, Michelle Saunders for essie created a short, rounded length nail look for both the hands and feet by layering the neutral tone of ridge filling base coat over au natural to complement the modern yet active collection.

Altuzarra:DKNY NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Nail Polish Trends: Neutrals, Off-Whites, Classic Spring Reds, Forest Greens, Soft Pastel Looks, Swatches
Inspired by the fresh, romantic feel of Altuzarra’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, Michelle Saunders for essie created a delicate, feminine nail by using spaghetti strap on both the hands and feet. The sheer pink hue, reminiscent of rosy cheeks, completed the overall look. DKNY’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection included a mixture of vibrantly colored streetwear styles with abstract patterns. To complement the urban vibe, Michelle Saunders for essie created a hip, neutral nail that resembled the tone of a muted nail bed by layering ridge filling base coat, au natural and allure. She topped off the look with a coat of matte about you, which added an edgy feel to the overall look.

Karen Walker:Tess Gibson ss15 NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Nail Polish Trends: Neutrals, Off-Whites, Classic Spring Reds, Forest Greens, Soft Pastel Looks, Swatches
Jin Soon created a literal green thumb to complement the garden-inspired Karen Walker Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, applying 2 coats of a forest green nail polish (the shade Jin used was from her upcoming JINsoon Spring 2015 Collection). Jin Soon created a subtle, white matte nail using Kookie White to complement the exploration of textures at the Tess Giberson Spring/Summer 2015 show.

Derek:Carolina SS15 NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Nail Polish Trends: Neutrals, Off-Whites, Classic Spring Reds, Forest Greens, Soft Pastel Looks, Swatches

Jin Soon created a polished, understated look for the Derek Lam Spring/Summer 2015 show. To create warmth, apply 1 coat of JINsoon Nostalgia. Next, layer one coat of JINsoon Muse for a warm, soft look. Carolina Herrera’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection was filled with brightly colored pieces that were structured, yet romantic. To tie the look together, Michelle Saunders for essie created a classic ‘spring red’ nail by using 2 coats of a-list.

Diane:Yigal SS15 NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Nail Polish Trends: Neutrals, Off-Whites, Classic Spring Reds, Forest Greens, Soft Pastel Looks, Swatches
Diane von Furstenberg drew inspiration from a traditional French picnic for her Spring/Summer 2015 line. Michelle Saunders of essie created a classic pink nail for the hands and an opaque pale pink nail for the toes, which paired perfectly with the colors and prints found throughout the collection. Yigal Azrouel’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection was heavily influenced by Hawaii’s laid back surfing culture. To complement the low-key beach vibe, Rita Remark for essie created a sheer sandy beige nail by layering mademoiselle over au natural on the hands, and applied a single coat of mademoiselle on the toes.

Nicole Miller:Rag and Bone 2015 NYFW Spring, Summer 2015 Best Nail Polish Trends: Neutrals, Off-Whites, Classic Spring Reds, Forest Greens, Soft Pastel Looks, Swatches
butter LONDON’s Lead Manicurist Katie Jane Hughes was inspired by Nicole Miller’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection of the art and culture of Brazil. The bright prints and colors evoked the vibrancy and movement of a tropical, Copacabana beach getaway. Katie used 2 coats of butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Jaffa, cut metallic gold striping tape to fit the width of the pinky nail, and applied to the middle of the pinky nail on each hand. She then topped the nail off with butter LONDON Nail 999 Basecoat to give a creamier, softer final effect.

For the Rag & Bone Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, Jin Soon Choi created a sleek, high-shine nude to complement the brand’s cool, urban aesthetic. First she applied JINsoon Power Coat base coat to prep the nails, then 1 coat of JINsoon Tulle. A single coat of JINsoon Top Gloss finished off the high-shine look.

NAILS NYFW SS15

Jenny Packham took inspiration from style icon Marilyn Monroe for her Spring/Summer 2015 runway show. To complement the rainbow colored collection, Michelle Saunders for essie created a youthful red-orange nail by using two coats of geranium on both the hands and feet.

Red shiny nails matched lips at Zac Posen SS’15. MAC Cosmetics Shirelle Studio Nail Lacquer was applied in 2 coats over naturally shaped nails for a classic bright red manicure. Studio Over Lacquer was applied on top for a high-gloss shine.

NAILS NYFW Naheem, Vera, Victoria

To complement the Naeem Khan Spring/Summer 2015 line, Julie Kandalec for essie created a nail look to represent the ‘Naeem Khan girl’ — elegant and done up, but not too glamorous. She used fiji, a creamy pale pink shade, on both the hands and feet to perfectly match the overall vibe of the collection.

It was all about natural minimalism at the Victoria Beckham SS’15 show. Vanessa Williams for Nails inc applied 1 coat of Nails inc Elizabeth Street Polish and 1 coat of Westminster Bridge Top Coat for a matte finish.

Jin Soon created a soft, glossy nude to complement the sheer romanticism of the Vera Wang Spring/Summer 2015 collection using Tulle and a top coat for some shine.

NAILS Stacey Bendet: Alice Olivia SS15

Julie Kandalec for essie was inspired by the Hollywood glam feel and vibrant hues seen throughout Veronica Beard’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection. To play up these aspects, she created a bright coral, standout nail for the hands, and a new take on nude for the feet that was reminiscent of the shade of stockings worn by women in the 1930s.

Stacey Bendet’s Spring/Summer 2015 presentation was heavily influenced by the beauty of Versailles, and included a whimsical mixture of daytime and evening looks. Inspired by colors seen throughout the fabrics, Rita Remark for essie created 3 different nail options to directly coincide with the collection. Shades included a custom soft lilac, a soft peach and a vibrant coral.

Pastels neg space nyfw ss15
Miss Pop for OPI created a nail look showcasing negative space at Charlotte Ronson, with alternating cut-out half moon shapes. This never-before-seen pastel mint OPI hue is slated to launch in February 2015. For the nail look, each model sported one hand with the pinky, middle and pointer fingers featuring a painted nail with a natural half moon, and the ring and thumb fingers featuring a natural nail with a painted half moon. On the other hand, the look was reversed, with the pinky, middle and pointer fingers featuring the natural nail with a painted half moon, while the ring and thumb fingers had the painted nail with a natural half moon.

Inspired by the island vibe of Sophie Theallet’s SS’15 Collection, Julie Kandalec for essie created a negative space double French tip nail using fiji and turquoise and caicos for the hands. To bring together the overall look, she used one coat of mademoiselle on the toes.

tadashi creatures of the wind nyfw ss15

At Tadashi Shoji, the colors of Venice inspired the palette – glowing pastels of frosted jade, pink shadow and blue stone are built up in layers. Use butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in The Full Monty applied with the Striping Brush to create a diagonal mesh-like pattern.

For Creatures of the Wind, Katie Jane Hughes, butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador,
wanted to avoid the nails looking “costume-y,” so a natural base was used. The final result was something somewhat unrecognizable, but with elements of the familiar. She used butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Full Steam Ahead.

Honor-40-1

Nonie Creme for Beauty.com created the custom nail look at HONOR by adding 3D pearls in a star pattern to Kiss Express One Minute Manicure Stick-On Nails from Beauty.com.

Dotted Nail Art NYFW s15

Jin Soon created a graphic textured nail at the TIBI SS’15 show. TIBI emphasized artistic handicraft with a clean, modern aesthetic, exploring Japanese tie-dye and weaving techniques on a bevy of muted textiles. Inspired by a soft, woven Shibori print, Jin Soon Choi designed a textured accent nail of black leatherette stitches on a light crepe base

Miss Pop created a light, feminine look at the Houghton SS’15 show with an unexpected edge on nails and toes. Nails were painted with OPI Base Coat, 2 coats of Samoan Sand — a sheer nude color — then sealed with Matte Top Coat (a big trend for spring!) and finished with a few hand-placed Swarovski crystals.

Review: Olay Regenerist Instant Fix Exfoliate And Renew System, Wrinkle and Pore Vanisher, Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream

The Olay Regenerist Instant Fix Exfoliate and Renew System with Derma-Crystals is a 2-part treatment. According to Olay, the microdermabrasion treatment formula “features the exfoliating power of Derma-crystals. These ultra-fine crystals gently remove dull and dead skin from the surface of the skin. Their coarse texture helps to stimulate surface cell regeneration, leaving you with a brighter, more vibrant complexion.”

Olay Conducts Facial Tone/Anti-Aging Twin Study To Test Skin Genetics – Pro-X By Olay Intensive Wrinkle/Tone Correcting Protocol Review

The first step of this treatment is an amber-colored gritty substance that is rubbed on the skin. I had to be careful to rub gently, because it was abrasive and too much pressure could hurt. As I rubbed, I began to feel a slight warmth all over my face. I then went on to part two, which was adding the serum. This created a tingly white foam as I rubbed in, and my face felt even warmer. Then I rinsed; though the directions said a warm washcloth could be used, I did not feel this would be sufficient to remove the product, so I washed my face in the shower. Afterwards, I made sure to apply a rich, emollient moisturizer.

In the morning, my face felt fantastic! So fresh, so soft, so clean! And I looked so rested and rosy! This is an amazing product at an amazing price; it performs as well if not better than many more expensive exfoliating treatments. I plan to use it once or twice a week from now on.

Review: Olay Regenerist Instant Fix Exfoliate And Renew System, Wrinkle and Pore Vanisher, Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream

Olay promises that after using Olay Regenerist Instant Fix Wrinkle and Pore Vanisher, “your skin will feel velvety soft with a beauty that looks younger than ever. This groundbreaking formula fills lines and creases to reduce the look of crow’s feet and wrinkles.”

According to Olay, Regenerist Instant Fix Wrinkle & Pore Vanisher, “uses a dual-action process to fill lines and creases in just minutes.” Broken down, the process can be described this way: particles fill wrinkles and a micro-bonding network seals the surface. Then, light-diffusing particles smooth and refine the look of pores for younger-looking skin. I used this product a couple of times before putting anything else on my skin, and I am happy to report that it lives up to its promise. The flesh-toned formula glides on easily and does a great job smoothing out skin. And it was a great base for the products I used after.

Olay Sensitive Body Wash VS. Dove Sensitive Skin Body Wash – Which One Provides Better Long-Lasting Moisture?

It does not, alas, have any SPF, so you will need to add that in some form. But even after adding a tinted SPF, blush and loose powder, my complexion looked dewy, fresh and soft. This is a terrific product at a terrific price. It’s going to be one of my new staples.

Review: Olay Regenerist Instant Fix Exfoliate And Renew System, Wrinkle and Pore Vanisher, Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream

A new CC cream?! The Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream is oil-free, lightweight and won’t clog pores. I tried this cream before putting anything else on my skin — and wow! Does it ever deliver! With fabulous coverage, it really does reduce the appearance of pores and gives the complexion a fresh, soft look.

Olay Total Effects Dark Circle Minimizing & Eye Brightening CC Cream

My only disappointment is that the SPF is a mere 15. (I will not stir from my house without an SPF of at least 30 in the winter; upped to 40 or 50 in the summer months.) But I used a tinted sunblock with a higher SPF over it, which worked beautifully. And did I mention the price? It’s a steal! I will be using this daily from now on! Olay’s handy multi-tasking CC cream claims that it will:

· Airbrush the appearance of pores for a flawless finish
·  Reduce the appearance of pores in 80% of women
· Moisturize with CC (Color and Correction) coverage

You can purchase all products reviewed and mentioned on BeautyStat.com!
