I agree with Beth totally. I love getting my nails done by my nail professional it’s relaxing and a escape but I can’t always get in so having the option of doing a gel manicure at home is awesome. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to cancel an appt because of work and have free time hours later but can’t get my nails done because they are already closed. Some women (me included) will always go to the spa to be pampered whether it’s for our nails, hair or facials. Doing gel mani/pedis at home is the same as using a at-home hair color or waxing at home it convenient but not the same experience.

I agree, there are many of us who will continue to go to the salon to get our nails done. I like having my nails done in peace and quiet, unlike when I do them at home and one of my boys asks for ice cream as soon as the last coat is on.

Dear nail professionals…please don’t be so scared and mean spirited. I think the home gel kit is nice, but no one can do our nails as well as our professional manicurists. Those of us that want our nails to look really nice will continue to go to our manicurist. I can never get my nails to look as nice as she does. Did you know that people who are open to change live longer? Yep, it’s true.

i think the companies who end up doing this and selling to the masses are totally screwing us professionals over. bc if they are doing it themselves, then why the hell would a customer pay me to do it? thanks a lot gelish, OPI and any other sell out company doing this to make an extra buck.
