Review, Photos: BeautyStat.com Editor Top 5 Picks – Best Makeup Trends For 2013 – Looks From MAC And NARS
NY Fashion Week has come and gone, but the editors here at BeautyStat still can’t get over all the amazing hair and makeup looks we saw on the runways! That’s why we’re giving you our Top 5 Best Hair Looks From NY Fashion Week. From the Geisha-inspired hot pink eyeshadow seen on the models at ANN YEE’’s Spring/Summer ’13 runway collection to the mermaid blue eyeshadow seen at Joy Cioci, these looks are bound to be on-trend for next year. But, we might just be a little too excited to wait that long, so we may start rocking some of these hair and makeup looks now while the weather still allows us. Read on to see if any of your designer hair and makeup look favorites made the list!
Coming in at Number 5 is the blue eyeshadow look NARS lead makeup artist Uzo created for the Joy Cioci fashion show. We love seeing how anyone (including models) can pull off blue eyeshadow, and the mermaid-meets-the-1920’s look was both creative and fun with a touch of pink on the lips and silvery cheeks.
The Number 4 spot goes to the strong eyebrow trend seen on the Thakoon runway that NARS makeup artist Diane Kendal created (BeautyStat just loves some good brows!). Also going with a 1920’s theme, the look was centered around dark, deep eyes using brown shades with the blush placed lower on the cheek, much similar to the look found in a painting.
At Number 3 is the modern graphic eye look makeup artist Lisa Butler conjured up using NARS products for the ACNE show. The bold, dark eye look was more uniform rather than being romantic with sharp lines and fresh skin. A look that can be replicated for day or night.
Number 2 goes to the ‘pretty in pink’ makeup look seen at the Christian Siriano show, where the ballerina-like models sported pale pink shadow on their lids, with soft pink cream lipstick and nails — the ultimate in femme style and makeup.
And the Number 1 makeup look that we loved goes to ANN YEE’s bronze and hot pink look! Eyes were washed in bronze shadow on the top lid, as hot pink shadow lined the lower half of the eye along with matching lipstick — all products used were from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. We’re all looking forward to the hot bronze and pink shades that will popping up on cosmetic counters next summer!
