Preview, Photos, Swatches: Burberry Cosmetics Iconic Nudes And Natural Luminosity Summer 2012 Collections – Shades For Darker Skin Tones
Have you even been to the new Burberry counter at Saks yet? If not, now is the time to make a beeline over there and see the new warm shades inspired by the 2012 Burberry Porsum Spring Runway Collection. At a recent preview with Director of Education for Burberry Beauty, John Trau, I was enlightened on the latest from the Iconic Nudes Collection and the new Natural Luminosity Collection — and we hear the collection is selling out faster than ice on a hot summer’s day!
The Burberry look this season is focused on toned down, warm, colorful shades and fresh, dewy skin. What I liked about these neutrals is they can create a nice, natural look on just about any skin tone. Mr. Trau demonstrated the versatility of Pale Barley No. 22 Sheer Eye Shadow ($29.00; pictured above) on one beauty editor with very fair skin and the same on another with a much deeper skin tone.
For skin, he suggests the Burberry Fresh Glow ($48.00) with a dab of sheer foundation to create a luminous base. Next, add Light Glow Natural Blush ($42.00) in the season’s hottest color, Tangerine No.06 dabbed on the cheeks. The foundations went on smooth and very light-to-the-touch; it felt weightless!

For olive and darker skin tones, if you’ve been waiting, Burberry has introduces 4 new shades to enhance your skin in the form of foundation, powder foundation and concealer. Sheer Luminous Fluid Foundation ($52.00; pictured above in Trench No. 13) and Sheer Luminous Compact Foundation ($55.00) in Trench 10-13; Sheer Luminous Concealer ($40.00) is available in Amber No.05, Hazelnut No.06, Walnut No.07 and Mahogany No.08. It’s good to know that Burberry recognized a need expand their shade range. Let’s hope other luxury brands will follow suit.

The packaging is adorable but the price is a bit to much for me. The colors look great and pigmented. Great review thanks
