Makeup Review, Swatches: YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Yves Saint Laurent
Interesting fact: YSL‘s lipsticks are poured into the tubes while still hot, literally injecting it from the bottom up. This unique process allows the creamy texture of the new formula to be shaped, and makes for a lipstick that glides on effortlessly and bathes the lips in both color and shine.
I am always taken by the packaging and quality of Yves Saint Laurent products and often find myself daydreaming while looking at their beauty products. This new Rouge Volupté Shine ($34.00 each) is launching this February in sixteen shades.
Nude IN Private
The colors range from pink-brown nudes to bold, rich berries to dark, deep currants. There is a shade for all skin tones; the texture is so ultra-creamy. There will be certain shades that are exclusive to Sephora (Fuchsia IN Excess), Neiman Marcus (Orange IMpertinent), Nordstrom (Rose IN Tension) and Saks Fifth Avenue (Prune IN Fire). Please note that the middle filigree portion of each lipstick showcases the color inside.
There are also two times more soft wax in this new formula than in a classic lipstick! The overall look is an ultra-shiny protective film that’s as clear as water over the base color. Did I mention that they smell dreamy, too?! Like mangos… YSL’s signature scent for this collection of lipsticks. Ahhh!
