Makeup Review, Swatches: Smashbox “Love Me” Spring 2013 Collection – Eyeshadow, Liner, Lipstick, Blush, Lipgloss
Artist Curtis Kulig, known for his signature “Love Me” mark, has set a new standard in modern image-making. Now he is in galleries from NYC to bars in Tokyo and has teamed up with Smashbox Cosmetics to produce the limited-edition “Love Me” Collection for Spring 2013.

This collection features eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushes, liners and lipglosses. Steeped in Kulig’s signature aesthetic, this collection is as good as it gets for a beauty editor with a BFA! I found myself immersed in the Nars/Andy Warhol Foundation Collection the same way — simply in LOVE.
The Eye Shadow Palette ($34.00) features five richly pigmented shades; you can wear them alone or layer them for more dimension. Available in Admire Me (pinks and browns and pictured/sampled) and Entice Me (blues and purples).
Be Legendary Lipstick ($19.00) gets Kurtis Culig‘s famous red shade (seen in his art, along with black most of the time around NYC) and is infused with vitamins as well as shea butter. It is available in Love Me (red) and Tempt Me (coral).
Blush ($28.00) is housed in a collectable compact emblazoned with a step and repeat “Love Me” mark and is available in Idolize Me (peach).
Paint Pen Eyeliner ($28.00) is also housed in a collectable step and repeat “Love Me” marked case; it lines and defines your eyes in this bold-black hue, inspired by Kulig’s favorite paints. Available in Jet Black.
Lip Enhancing Gloss ($19.00) is a glassy gloss that delivers a hint of pearlescent color/shimmer. Available shades are Charm Me (nude-sampled/pictured) and Adore Me (pink). Please note this gloss went over my inked lips that are always a bit pinky/brown.

What a fabulous collection! I was waiting ever-so-patiently to review it. I just walked by Urban Outfitters last week and saw his “Love Me” mark on the window in huge letters… and then it was gone!
There is more in store for this artist, and I have to hand it to Davis, Lori and all of the wonderful talents that make Smashbox Cosmetics so cutting edge and modern. Terry Richardson shot their ads before, remember?
