There are so many thing about Fashion Week I love, the tweets from fashion gurus….I wish I could a fly on the wall(s) or a gopher.
To me, the best thing about Fashion week is how many new people are exposed and discover their love for fashion. I believe that people naturally check in to see what all of the buzz is about and that’s how the discover this beautiful world.
I adore fashion week. Growing up in Nashville, I remember the 5 year fashion trickle down of Runway\LA & NYC\Local Mall. I would just salivate as the models and designers rewrote the book every season. I watched Fashion TV and House of Style religiously. As fashion tv became more popular and people like Mr. Verdi become a household name and online shopping come into vogue, I rejoiced to see the fashion trickle become instant gratification. Now, I look to see the new, accessible trends to rework my basics and the backstage magic to freshen my hair and makeup to instantly update my look. As a fabric designer, I love seeing the season forecast – it just gets me inspired to create myself!

What I’m loving about fashion week, is this whole push the envelop and think outside the box. It is really moving to see how powerful and influential designers are in our live and we don’t think about it or acknowledge it. I wish could have been there in person. I absolutely love it all! From the clothes & shoes to the nail art & makeup. Slightly disappointed with the footwear for Spring 2012 however, I want the shoes from Nanette Lepore on my feet right now! Neon Heaven!
My ultimate favorite collection though is Prabal Gurung. The mix of floral and bondage worked so well and chic. Also loved the use of purple in the collection. It was just so beautifully executed. Loved it all.

I love all of it! But if I had to pick just one thing, I think it would be the makeup.
I love Fashion Week as a huge source of inspiration for the next season, mostly in regards to hair and make up, but with fashion as well.
Certain aspects of Fashion Week are evolving, but I like to view pics of the shows of the less well-known, but interesting, designers. I also like to view candid shots of make-up artists and hair stylists preparing the models for the show.
My favorite part of Fashion week are pics of celebs taken when they are sitting in the front row. My favorite pic thus far is the one taken of Nicky Minaj and Vogue’s Anna Wintour sitting next to each other. They both clearly have nothing in common and judging by what Nicky Minaj was wearing, Anna Wintour must have been gasping the whole time instead of looking at the runway.
I like seeing what each designer comes up with, how they put the look together and what makeup everyone is wearing.
