Review, Photos: Curls Unleashed Organic Root Stimulator - Hair Product Line Event

The Curls Unleashed Organic Root Stimulator release party at The Carlton Hotel was definitely a showcase of gorgeous, natural hair — hosted by Taren Guy, the one and only Taren916 of YouTube fame. A noted presence in the room was Kim Coles (who could miss that wonderful smile!) of the hit sitcom Living Single, who went au naturale herself. The fabulous Patrice Grell Yursik of Afrobella.com was present as well, showing support and giving hair advice to all.

The event was showcasing the new line of hair products for hair of all different styles and textures. A new natural hair product line for gals who are “tired of being slaves to relaxers, rollers, curlers and flat irons” and wear their hair the way nature intended: curly, wavy, or kinky! The room was filled with all different hair types: wavy, curly, coiled, twisted and kinky — hair naturalistas of all walks of life mingled and giggled the night away. I was very impressed with the different hair textures and curl patterns that were present at the event – true natural beauty!

Hairstylists were on hand to show natural beauties styling demonstrations and product consultations, or what they called “consultation cocktails”. Hair texture expert, Dr. Hair helped us find out which type of hair texture we had (I myself have type 3b curls).

This new product line does not contain petrolatum, mineral oil, alcohol, or parabens. The packaging itself is BPA free and recyclable. Curls Unleashed products promise shine, help define and moisturize your curls without adding shrinkage or strip your hair of its natural oils. Dr. Hair explained that these products are great for twisting, coiling, and updos. We were all sent home with a cute gift bag, containing an information pamphlet & full-sized products.

The Curls Unleashed products (available at Sallybeauty.com) line is as follows:

Lavish in Lather Sulfate-Free Shampoo
No Boundaries Leave-In Conditioner
Let It Flow Shine & Define Mousse
Set It Off Curl Boosting Jelly
Take Command Curl Defining Crème
No Restrictions Moisturizing Conditioner
Second Chance Curl Refresher

I love this product. The rep at Sally’s recommended this product to me when I complained that my curls would get so frizzy. I am a curly hair Latina and I just love this product. My curls look nice and are no longer frizzy. Thanks Curls Unleashed for a great product. I wish I would have found it sooner.
