So I normally get highlights at a salon, never done any at home but being really broke and I got a free coupon so i figured why not . I have fairly dirty blonde hair so I used 8N cuz i didn't wanna go super light and stay kinda natural. The product itself is great to use, even though the smell knocked me out at first! Even in a bathroom with an open window and normal light fan. The foam does not drip at all (they say it won't foam if you only tilt 5 times, it drips if you shake or mix more) comes out great and workable and rinses out well. The conditioner is great too, nice healthy hair after i dried it out. Only thing is my hair has a slight reddish strawberry blonde tinge to it on my roots, and the rest looks like the box color on the front. I', guessing this is because I have a fair amount of red in my hair and it brought it out. I only did this last night so i'm hoping it will lighten with washing and some sun and highlight heat treatments. Coulda been worse but if you have natural red in your hair i'd go the extra 10 min for roots for a full 30min, cuz i did 20 for all over color.Very good product though in my book

I used Revlon Colorsilk in Pale Beige Blond for years and Revlon discontinued the color (which Revlon does a lot- discontinue things). I could not find anything close until I found the color in John Frieda. So I tried it this afternoon. My hair is still wet but it looks like it did a good job. But the jury is still out!! If this brand doesn't work, I'll try L'Oreal because I think they have a "beige blond" color.

Also, note to all those whose hair turned reddish - that means you have a lot of red pigment in your hair. I've been coloring my hair for 30 years and do not use Clairol at all because it brings out the red in my hair. That is why I loved Revlon. The colors were true. Also, always use a shampoo formulated for color treated hair, especially blond colors. It will keep the brassiness to a minimum.

I used the 9A color. My hair was very dry and tangled at the ends and this was the first time dying my hair too. It made my dark blonde hair more healthy, shiny, soft, and it looks and feels way better than before. It made my roots look more blonde and I am very happy with the results! It is not exactly the color that it says on the box, not as light, but it is close. Very impressed. Definately going to stick with the John Frieda hair color foam and maybe use 10B to make a highlighted effect. Love it!

I've been coloring at home for years and decided to give John Frieda Foam a try. HUGE MISTAKE. So much for no dripping. I used the amount recommended and had foam dripping everywhere. Ended up having to stand in the shower as I dripped waiting for the time to pass. Left it on for almost 10 minutes less than recommended. I used 5G which should have been a Golden Brown. I now have very, very dark color that is RED. What the heck happened?

Top it off with the stripes the dripping color left all over my face and neck and I am not a happy customer.

I'll NEVER purchase this or any John Frieda again.

I'm sorry I didn't see this site before I used my free coupon for this hair color. I have always used Clairol with no problem, but decided to try this as it was free and a good name. HORRIBLE MISTAKE!!!! I used the medium golden brown, and it came out almost burgundy!!! I went and bought Suave clarifying shampoo and washed it twice a day for about 4 days just to lower the color. It still was bad, but now it's been over a month, and with daily washings using the suave once a week, I re-colored with Clairol's natural instincts, and will NEVER use any other brand again!
