Apparently, earthy is the new black. So when Get Glow haircare sent me a bunch of natural products to try, I couldn’t wait to get my hair wet. Founder Dalia Wallach believes every head of hair has different needs.
Tapping nature’s abundance of all-natural ingredients; using the latest developments from the lab and working with botanists and chemists, she has created a line of products that targets various hair needs. Before
I received the Daily Shampoo ($16.00), Light Gentle Silky Conditioner ($18.00), Intense Hair Repair Nourishing Treatment ($19.00; 8 oz.), Thickening Spray for Volume Control ($18.00), and Ready, Set, Hold! Hair Spray ($17.00).
The organic, acid-balanced and pH-adjusted Daily Shampoo has a clean, sweet scent. It contains vitamins E and B5, as well as nettle and silica to nourish hair and give it shine. It felt gentle on my scalp and left my hair clean and light.
The Light Gentle Silky Conditioner has eliminated the oils found in most conditioners, so hair doesn’t go limp, or feel too soft. After towel-drying my hair post-shampoo, as the bottle suggests, I slathered it on from roots to ends, leaving it for five minutes before rinsing. It has a potent vanilla scent, which remained on my hair… interestingly enough, even after I had washed my hair later with a different shampoo. My hair felt light, and not at all weighed down.
After I shampooed and conditioned, I used the Thickening Spray for Body Volume Control on towel-dried hair. The combination of wheat protein botanicals and special conditioners promise to keep hair light and non-sticky. The spray itself has a sweet scent, and it went on very lightly. Once I styled, I did see volume without the grease — and my hair felt very free.
To finish off my look, I used the Ready, Set, Hold! Hairspray — let me tell you, they had me at first spray. The product smells like roses! – and no not like that chemical-esque rose scent most brands put into their products. This hairspray actually smells like rose essential oil.
Well… they found the right reviewer for the job because rose is my absolute favorite scent, so excuse my biased excitement. Not only did the hairspray hold my volume, it also acted like hair perfume! Every time I turned my head, I got a whiff of the scent, which lasted all day and didn’t air out. The vitamin-infused hairspray was my favorite product from the Get Glow line (gee, I wonder why?), and is an absolute must for rose enthusiasts!
After (using all items expect for treatment)
The next day I tried the Intense Hair Repair Nourishing Treatment. After shampooing, I towel-dried my hair and applied the product from roots to ends for ten minutes. It smells like a mix of various floral scents, with a slight citrus punch. Whenever I deep condition my hair, I usually do it on a Sunday, when I seldom need to show my face to the public. Most hair treatments weigh my hair down, and the look is just not the same. With the Get Glow system, I can honestly say this was the first time my waves were curly, not semi-straight, and my roots were not at all greasy! I was very impressed with the overall results: hair was soft, voluminous, and shiny.
The only downside? Not much bang for your buck. Though I know my hair is long, and I need more product than most, I felt like the products were running out quicker than others usually do. It isn’t such a significant difference, but it’s there. Overall, Get Glow products are gentle, nourishing, and leave hair smelling amazing for days and days. Yes I do think theses would work for my hair! I love the scents you described, vanilla to roses, to citrus! I am always trying new hair products especially for colored and frizz-prone hair. I don’t have as much trouble during the winter but summer is horrible. I am 62 so I also have aging in mind. I would love to try these products. They sound like a great product for your hair. I would love to have a sample of something. My hair is long but thinning out so much. It lacks body because it’s so thin, pin straight and it just lacks luster. I have tried so many products for the hair loss I am experiencing that they do work but temporary so I would love to get a chance to try these products and hopefully it could help just a bit. I’m definitely struggling getting my hair healthy again. After three kids and coloring and ironing – damaged, damaged, damaged! I’ve tried a few products that I was so hoping would help. I’ve started seeing some improvement but just by cutting it and cutting out highlights. However, I do find like the review that treatments can leave my hair feeling greasy and weighed down. I would love to try these products out; I’ve been sick for a few years and it caused me to lose a lot of my hair. It’s growing back now but the relaxers I have to use to keep it manageable make it very thin and brittle, so other than the relaxer I prefer not to use any heat treatments or chemicals. I love that this line of haircare is natural and will help, not damage my limp locks! lol

A few years ago i hit rock bottom, and my hair did too. i was losing it at an alarming rate. On my 18th Birthday i decided to get it cut cause i thought it would maybe hide the fact that i was losing my hair. But it didn’t work. The lady massacred my hair. everyday after i have been doing everything i naturally can to grow out my hair better than it ever has been before. Im 20 years old now about to be 21 and my hair has just barely just reached my shoulders. i cannot place all the blame on the hair stylist i tried cutting it into some kind of shape i know you know what i mean X). One thing about me is that i’m all about the natural way. you are what you eat and id rather be all the good stuff in the world than be composed of Toxic chemicals. I would love to have your product because it is exactly what im looking for. My body has a way of knowing how to get what it needs, and what luck to see a product that seems meant for me.

I think this product line would be very good for my hair. I do have some shampoo that I really like, but I can’t always use the same kind, because then my hair starts to look dull. I love products that are all natural. We put too many toxins in and on our body. So any product that helps eliminate such things from my body are a welcome site. I have problems with frizzy hair that has no body. I think these products would be great for my hair.
My hair needs a lot of help. It’s dry and over processed and I use a straight iron everyday. I need both moisture and protein and Get Glow seems like it would address my concerns using natural ingredients. I love the sea kelp as an ingredient. I’ve used this ingredient in different hair formulations before and my strands just soak it in, leaving them strong and glossy. I’ve also had good luck with chamomile and nettle. Get Glow hair products seem to be very effective. My hair is dry, dull, fragile and lacks shine. I’m tired of using hair products that are harsh on my hair and read like a vat of chemicals. I like the fact that Get Glow uses natural ingredients and I know from experience that a lot of the ones listed; seaweed, grapeseed oil, green tea, and aloe vera work fantastically on my hair. I’m looking for something to provide strength and moisture and I’m excited about the line of Get Glow products. I hope I’m a winner!

I would love to try this! My hair is naturally straight but last year I got a bodywave to make my hair wavy but I turned out way too wavy and never relaxed so after brushing it so many times to try to make it straighter, it just got grizzled and drier. So now one year later my hair is frizzy and I have split ends that are dry, dry, dry. The only way to make it not so frizzy is straightening it with a blow drier or putting moroccan oil in it which seems to help, but my ends still feel dry. I hope to win these products I wonder if they would help

Frizz is the BANE of my existence, so I’d love to try out the ‘Light Reflector Frizz eraser’ I love the color of my natural highlights, so if this product can boost the one thing I actually do LOVE about my hair and take the away the biggest thing I actually hate about my hair, and leaving me smelling pretty every time I turn my head, this might be Hair Nirvana for me! And maybe cute tall boys in the subway will want to talk to me when they get a whiff of that Rose scent!

I have to try these products; Glow; out. I am getting older & my hormones, etc. Are changing & so is my hair. It is long but drying out.
