Just a fair warning….the BRazilian Blowout name is TRADEMARKED. There are many companies trying to cash in by affiliating their product with the term Brazilian Blowout. There are many products on the market that appear to be a good deal but could cost you your hair and your health(especially if it isn’t done by a licensed cosmotologist). Just a fair warning, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is….And for you ladies on a budget…check out daily deal sites(Like Groupon, Living Social, Tippr, Home Run, Fresh Guide, Social Buy ect)…many times there are salons that offer the BB at a reduced rate. Lifeooker is another-and craigslist too. I agree that this is a luxury service (but if you break it down its only about 100 a month) but it is one that should be done by a professional using the REAL Brazilian Blowout products. I’ve found a product online from Brazil.
It’s called Zene Progress, and the results so far have been fabulous.
Actually, I’ve been using Brazilian Blowout products for about 3 years on and off after discovering it on a visit to Brazil, where the treatment is called Escova Progress, or Escova Progressiva, (in much the same way it’s being called Brazilian Blowout in the States)
It’s possible to find high quality products online that are easy to use at home. Most of the modern treatments only require a single application and are as easy to use as any conditioner.
You just have to wait a little longer before rinsing.
The secret is in the flat ironing of your hair after application, but it’s not that difficult. Just follow the instructions!
I’m interested to hear of anybody else’s experience of DIY Brazilian Blowouts, but so far mine have been excellent.

I am 13 weeks into a Brazilian Gloss treatment and want to try the Garnier Blow Dry perfector. Just not sure if there are any ingredients in the Brazilian Gloss treatment that will interact poorly with the Garnier product. Anyone know?
Well I have tried doing the Zene progress on my mum’s hair after I have purchased it online and followed all the exact instructions, and the results have been horrible! Her hair is actually very brittle, more frizzy now and curly than it ever was initially. What went wrong?

I did the brazilian blowout at my salon and it worked fabulously!!! I then purchased the Shielo Hydrate shampoo and conditioner with the Shielo Bounce Style Creme.
Well let me tell you – it has prolonged the effects of the blowout from the salon!! Even if you don’t do the salon treatment the shampoo and conditioner are great for your hair!! My hair is not frizzy! It is silky soft and manageable!!!
Has anyone heard of Cysteine straightening.
Apparently it’s becomeing more popular than Keratin straightening in Brazil…
Any info most welcome.
I tried the Keratin treatment by Garnier and it DID NOT WORK for me. In fact, it made my hair dry out. I also tried the Keratin treatment by Organics, that too did not work. I hope some day to find an at home product that truly does work.
