(Giveaway) The Hour is Everything: Caudalie Fleur de Vigne Fresh Fragrances

7 July 2011 547 views 111 Comments

When I attended the launch of Caudalie’s Limited Edition Fresh Fragrances a few weeks ago at The Vinotherapie Spa at the Plaza Hotel, little did I know that the evening would be reminiscent of Proust’s major novel.

In the cool depths of the Plaza’s Spa, we were introduced to a selection of wines by the resident sommelier, a gesture fitting for the vinotherapy roots of the brand. The antioxidant powers of reservatrol have been harnessed by several brands, but Caudalie lives and breathes it. From its remarkably effectivePremier Cru The Eye Cream  (80% more radiant skin and 160% increased in cell life span after 10 days of use) to the three Limited Edition Fragrances we were introduced to at the event, Caudalie is all about harnessing the fine properties of the great grape.

Caudalie Fleur de Vigne Fragrance

The three Limited Edition fragrances celebrate the unique time of day: the Fleur De Vigne Fragrance pays homage to the grape blossom which blooms every June. It’s an refreshing fragrance with notes of grapefruit, mandarin and cedar. The suggested time of day for use is the morning.

Caudalie Zest de Vigne

The Zeste de Vigne is an energizing unisex fragrance with notes of sweet lemon, petit grain and bergamot, and suggested for use at noon.

The Des Vignes

Finally the The Des Vignes evokes the stillness of dusk, and has notes of white musk, neroli and ginger. It is a mystical fragrance with 10% pure parfum, and the most concentrated of the three, perfect for use in the evening.

The elegant glass spray bottles retail for $38 and will be available in the summer.

Now, about the contest. Funny you asked! Tell us what your ideal time of day is, and how you normally spend it (e.g. if it’s afternoon, do you get lunch at the Italian trattoria or a biscotti; if it’s morning, do you get your freshly-brewed latte?). Be descriptive. The more creative, the more chance you have of winning.

Please submit your entry by July 20th. We will pick one winner and send it to Caudalie, when Mathilde will choose her favorite entry to receive the grand prize: a gift basket filled with $250 worth of Caudalie products. The fragrances are available for purchase at Sephora.com and Caudalie-USA.com.

Remember to leave a comment below to be considered. Good luck ladies!

My favorite time is late afternoon. I take a break to have some quiet time all to myself. I like to have a cup of coffee with some flavored creamer, usually hazelnut, with a treat such as a little dark chocolate. When the weather is nice, I like to have my quiet, relaxing time in a rocking chair on the porch! A liitle bit of heaven in a busy day.

My ideal time of day is the evening after all the kiddos are snuggled in bed. Then it’s relaxation time for me! I run myself a hot bubble bath, light candles and pour a glass of wine. Then i just sit and soak and think about all of the special memories that i made with my children for that day and what other amazing adventures tomorrow will bring. When i am finished i am relaxed & ready to snuggled up in my own bed with my dh and watch a romantic movie together. All of those things for me =Pure Bliss.

I love the middle of the night when the outside world is serene and quiet, which is my favorite time to read. I’ve always been a nocturnal creature and some of my clearest memories as a child are curled up with a book by the glow of my translucent green lampshade.

This is a hard question. I love my mornings when my twins come to snuggle. I love the afternoon when we play. However, night time after they go to bed, I love to watch an old movie and have a cup of tea. I guess I just LOVE every moment of the day. :)

My favorite time of day is evening. I love watching the sun slowly set over the lake, making the water look like liquid gold. Everything seems to slow down. The stress of the day washes away, and the night air cools, and it seems like the city breathes out and relaxes. The fireflies start to appear and the night sky looks magical. Evening is the most peaceful time. Everyone is relaxed and quiet, and I just love it!

My favorite time of the day is the morning on the weekend only – haha. who wants to be a morning person during the work week? On the weekends, I sneek out of bed early and make myself a big cup of coffee, something with a great nutty aroma like hazelnut. Then I crawl up on the couch and enjoy my favorite bad tv shows!

My ideal time of any day would be while having dinner at around 8….this is the only time me,my sister and my parents are all at the same time together….the conversations we have …me grumbling about my college classes…my sister about her patients …mom complaining how we don’t like what she makes for dinner..and dad just listening….there’s always something on the television going on during the whole time but still its that half an hour that just seems lovely….

As a working woman, the far majority of my day is spent rushing around and working, so my favorite part of the day is the evening “calm down” before bed. I typically start it by taking a run, then spraying on some glorious perfume and reading while it wafts around me.

I am a HUGE Caudalie fan– I love their perfumes! They are so refreshing! And their hand balm is INCREDIBLE. By far the most moisturizing on the market. Love them!!

It us so much fun and i wouldn’t want to do anything else! My mom means so much to me which is why i spend sooo much time with her! :D

I prefer mid-day because in the morning I’m in a rush to get to work, and at night, there’s so much to do but at my lunch hour, the time is all mine. Over the years I’ve done so many things… read books, watched Netflix, shopped at the mall, volunteered… one time I played hookie and went and saw a movie.

Lunchtime is a lovely break that makes the day more managable … It’s like taking a vacation every day! These Caudalie sprays sound like mini-vacations in a bottle too and I’d love to win. Please enter me.

My favorite time of day is around 9 pm right after i take a nice long hot shower, put on some of my favorite lotion, and get into a comfortable bed with freshly cleaned sheets. Dusk. The day is coming to a close, the heat begins to dissipate..and the magic of night is just around the corner. Everything begins to fade, to change color..a certain smell comes upon you. It’s getting too dark for your sunglasses but still light. There is a hint of what comes next. If I am driving I roll down my window to inhale the smell of night coming. If at home, I step outside and take a minute to relax, preferably with my husband. We hold hands and watch as night rolls in.

My favorite time of the day is morning, having coffee on the deck with my daughter. The only sounds we can hear are our own voices and the morning calls of the birds and the small sounds of the forest, surrounded by the tops of the trees on the mountainside and the smells of nature. The sun warms us slowly and I feel I am so fortunate to have these days with my young adult daughter, spent in the harmony and peace of the new day’s beginning.

I so get lost looking out to the sea, a time for my mind to let go and breath deeply.

All my life I have been inspired by the golden light of late afternoon. Even as a little girl I’d take time to climb a tree and enjoy the mellow peace of the front yard. Every place I’ve lived has turned magical just by being bathed in gold nearly every evening. The fire of sunset brings a climax to the scene. As the dusk deepens and the daylight becomes elusive and lights come on in the houses, I feel a sense of mystery, as though entering a different world. In the summer, the twinkling fireflies add points of joy to my mood, and I sip mint tea as I listen to the orchestra of crickets and cicadas. The tranquil drama of the passage from day to night captures me every day.

  • Sean said:

Anything other than morning time! In the morning, before my shower, I am a walking zombie and a danger to others.

In all seriousness, I am a night person. I typically stay up late working and enjoy knowing that in houses all around me, children and adults are asleep. Plus, there are a lot less distractions so I get a lot done.

  • Willa said:

Good Morning Lord and anyone else who knows I’m thinking of you this day. I love waking with wonderful thoughts of what I’m going to accompolish during the day, getting a shower, slipping into a housecoat, cup of my favorite flavored Folger’s coffee and putting in some flavored chocolate creamer w/pkg of sugar. After dressing, I then slip out the door onto the deck, with the previous day’s newspaper or a magazine. I love to look down across my mowed and very well groomed property and sit quietly waiting for deer or wild turkeys to come meangering along unconcerned hunting for bugs and worms. If they don’t show up maybe a waning breeze will come along
to serve up a breath of fresh country air. Squirrels jumping from oak tree limb to limb while a cottontail rabbit hops along sampling the green freshly mowed grass.

Only disturbing noise might be the telephone call from my daughter
wondering if Mom is ok and what I’m doing. She might ask, mom how
do you make strawberry shortcake from scratch, or how to do some
other chore thats bugging her. I always smile as I used to phone my mom for various recipes or help with a cleaning problem too.

My favorite time of day is the early evening right when I get home from work. I take of my work clothes and hope into the shower to enjoy a nice shower massage… it relaxes my shoulders and back after sitting in my cubicle all day. I cleanse my face and brush my hair and put on some nice comfortable clothes. I head downstairs, make a nice dinner for myself and enjoy either a nice movie, tv show or a good book. This is the time I feel most relaxed and less stressful. I try and clear my mind of the day and just enjoy some free time.

  • Andrea said:

My favorite time of day is the elusive hour in summer when the afternoon fades into evening. It is so easily lost, and I love to take an hour – to set down the groceries, leave the to do list on the counter. I turn up the jazz or opera, pop a bottle of bubbly and enjoy the sublime way the sun and air changes into evening. You can hear the chatter of the city quiet, for just a moment, as people return home to recharge. As the air changes, that sweet summer evening air, like an elixir, seduces me. Rejuvenated, I retreat to the bathroom (bubbly in hand) for a cool shower. A little swipe of gloss, a brush of the hair, and my favorite body oil and I’m ready to greet the summer evening with a smile.

My fave time of day is early morning before the rest of the family gets up. The birds are singing, I can empty the dishwasher, do a load of laundry and simply clear the kitchen up. I savor my morning coffee while checking email and listening to the morning news/weather. This quiet time prepares me to calmly cope with others in the family who are not such morning people.

  • Savannah said:

My favorite time of day is mid-morning. Sipping Earl Grey on my victorian’s wrap around porch, reading a good book and listening to my pug’s mid-morning slumber snore next to me. The hummingbird’s are swooping through and the sun is warming the dew off the lawn.
A gorgeous time of day… quite peaceful.

Without question, my favorite time of day is about 9:00 AM. My husband is at work, I’ve dropped my son off at school, and I’ve finished my daily chores. I make myself a cup of hot Chai, and then I sit on my couch with both of my cats…Polly and Chloe. It is so peaceful and quiet then, there’s truly no better time of the day for me. I like my solitude.

Much like the song lyrics that say ‘i’m awake but my world is half asleep’ – I tend to prefer what most people refer to as ‘graveyard shift’ for some reason I get my best writing accomplished after midnight, when my world is asleep, I’m wide awake, hard at work and productive. I like to write very late when the only distractions are the ones I find enjoyable like music!

I have yet to try Caudalie Products but they certainly sound like new inspiration! A new muse for my writing of course! :-)

My favourite time of the day almost never changes. It is actually between 5pm and 7.30pm, don’t ask me why! But that’s just the time where a sense of calm settles over me and I just relax. Thing is, it goes by that quick, so I yearn for the the next 24 hours to pass me by.

My favorite time of the day is after the sun goes down. Here in Florida, this is the cooling time of the day. The air cools off as well as my mind. I enjoy sitting outside and just thinking of all the hectic activities of the day and then letting them go, one by one. The stress of a parent in the throes of lung cancer, the chronic pain I live with and the end of my marriage all can be put on the back burner for another day. Hello darkness, my old friend, as the song goes.

My favorite time of the day is in the morning, when I begin with a cup of freshly brewed Kona coffee. I drink it from my cup with my name printed on it in Hawaiian language. In Hawaii, Kathryne is Kakalina, which means blessed, pure, holy. I’m neither pure nor holy but am so much blessed. This little inspiration is my mantra to start my day right- to share whatever small blessings I have to people around me. “If you have been blessed today, be a blessing to others”

My favorite time of day is the morning, when all is fresh and new, and the promise of the day’s journey awaits….. Those thoughts are there every morning to greet me and quickly fade as I play “race the clock”, and see if I can get transform into my the beautiful image I like to portrait prior to the second, yes second, that I have to leave the house in order to make the train for the hour plus ride to work. My last finishing touch to my crazed morning ritual is to spritz myself with perfume right before I fly downstairs, grab a mouthful of water (don’t want to drink too much in case the train has issues), put on my shoes, grab my keys, my bag, get into the car, and check if I won the race against the clock as the new day’s journey begins…..

My favorite time of day is the evening. The rush of the day comes to a close, and the stillness of the evening sets in. I love the feeling of solitude the evening gives me, as though I’m the only person still moving around. I’ve also found the evening to be the best time to show my skin some TLC. My at-home facials and beauty treatments are always performed in the evening and the restorative properties of the sleep the evening brings always gives me soft, glowing skin the next day. I love the late evening. I go for walks looking for deer and rabbits grazing by the side of the road alert for their predators and jumping aside as I walk by. Once in awhile I see a snake slithering by making me wonder if there are more nearby. They’re probably after the toads that wait for their late night meal under the street lights. It’s relaxing knowing there’s not much traffic or people to worry about. I listen to the crickets and the bullfrogs playing a symphony that’s very entertaining as I watch the fire flies darting around looking for their mates. Once in a while I even see a shooting star sparkling through the sky leaving me in awe. I love the adventure of a late night walk.

Favorite time of day? When I’m sleeping. I can hardly wait to get home, toss my work clothes on the floor and slip into my softest tee and cropped jammie pants. I scrub the day’s makeup off of my face with my NASA space-age supersonic jet fighter/face scrubber and slather on all of those expensive anti-aging potions that are supposed to work extra hard while I’m sleeping (See? It’s almost like I’m accomplishing something when I sleep!) Nice cold glass of ice water by the bed? Check. Go pee so I don’t wake up in the middle of the night and bump into the door? Check. Now, jump in, pull up the covers and snooze the night away. Ahhhh……

AURORA. A quickening of my pulse and I drift into consciousness. Senses come to life as I see golden daylight, hear the running shower, feel the cocoon of downy comforter and pillows that I struggle to part from. A familiar scent carries me by the nose…the fragrance of fresh-ground coffee…to the kitchen, the chill of the hard wood beneath my feet bringing me to full awareness. This is a day brand new; a chance to do it right this time; a clean slate. Remind myself to perform random acts of kindness, to be positive, to build on that which is good and to redirect those tendencies that have proven detrimental. It is a gift, this new day, and I am thankful.

My favorite time of the day is morning, when everything if fresh and new, when you can decide that this day is going to be a good day. When my children are sweet and loving, snuggled down in their beds waiting of you to whisper “Get up sleepy head.” My favorite time of the day is morning, walking out of the door to go to work as the birds sing “Good Morning” to me. When the plants still have their tears of joy for the beginning of a new day on their petals and leaves. Morning, when the sun is playing peak a boo over the horizon and everything decides to come alive. Morning, when I realize just how lucky that I am that I made it another day.

My favorite time of the day is the morning :-) Unfortunately I am on disability so I have the ‘luxury’ of having no place to go. It sucks, I loved my job. But I do appreciate my mornings dearly, just waking up by myself, as the sun hits the window, in a quiet world. Going downstairs, opening windows and withdraw to my meditation pillow for a good steady hour. Rising from my pillow I grind my fresh organic coffee, my small daily splurge, heat and froth milk and set myself down to a wonderful large cup of homemade latte. Looking out at my tiny inner city garden, enjoying watching the little life that finds a home there, I wake up slowly, read my mails and just enjoy my my time before getting to the rest of the day. Many days I wake up sad, but I have learned to just let the sadness be and it always settles. Even if it is not the life I chose, it is wonderful life, precious life, a life full of gifts and beauty. And it is in the mornings that I am the most awake to that realisation!

I am not a morning person, but ironically my favorite time of day is the morning. Slowly bearing my warm sleepy skin to the cool dark morning air, I place my waking feet on the knotted hardwood floor. In those first groggy steps I am in a fog somewhere suspended between dreamland and reality. I clumsily get into the shower. I love how invigorating the shower is as the air around you turns into a cloud. After showering, I greet my chipper, morning-person husband on my way to the kitchen. Streams of light dance across the kitchen floor as daylight trickles in through the windowpanes. Once there I’ll start the water for my cup of tea, and sit for a few moments talking with my husband. It is in those moments, in the beginning of every day, where I find my energy and my love.

Actually, I love the whole 24 hour’s of the day!! In the morning I love to sit and have a cup of cappachino and watch the sun come up and listen to the birds sing, and the deer with their fawn’s come to eat at the salt block, and maybe catch sight of a black bear strolling through for some breakfast. I get a quick shower and ready myself for the day and the adventure’s that it bestow’s on me!! In the afternoon, I love taking an hour for myself and set and meditate about the thing’s that are occuring or are going to be happening in my life and the choice’s that I must make. Then it’s family time, with dinner and hearing everything that has happened to them during the course of the last 12 hours. Then it’s time for a quiet bubble bath getting done in time to sit on the deck in my robe, with a glass of wine and watching the sunset with my hubby!! I just love the fact that each day is an adventure and so different from day to day, and I wouldn’t miss a minute of it!!

My ideal time of day is just after the sun goes down. Dinner is done, bathing is finished, and it is time to sit with hubby and enjoy a movie. We are in our pj’s or our bday suits relaxing together. Heck, we may even watch 2 movies or enjoy some physical activity before going to bed. After I bath I like to touch up with a favorite fragrance and it makes me feel refreshed and ready for this type of romantic evening.

My favorite time of day is night time! After cooking, cleaning, and baths for the children I get a little time to snuggle to my husband. I really love my children and being a mom, but if I didn’t have that hour or two at night to really soak in everything and really appreciate all the small things that are easily overlooked I don’t think my day would get enough credit for for its worth. If it is a stormy night with thunder, lightning, and rain drops falling it makes it that much more relaxing for me!

I love the early morning. right before the suns about to come up and the whole place it just quite and very calm. there’s nothing going on and everyone is still fast asleep. before the world wakes up and everything turns into motion. I love the early morning when there’s nothing going on and everything is just so peaceful.
