    When I was a kid, we were asked to write an “When I Grow Up..” essay. I drew the typical pink ballet dancer and write my essay on wanting to be a ballerina. I never got the chance to take classes because I was too busy chasing bugs and getting dirty!

    as a child, i never dreamed of being a ballerina. however as i have gotten older and have seen more movies about it, i have fallen in love with the idea. i have also fallen madly in love with the idea of my daughter taking lessons and coming home with dance routines. so adorable, thos tiny pink tuts and tiny ballet flats! how sweet. :O)

    YES!!!! I actually took ballet for awhile as a kid. When your young you’re always changing your interests so it didnt last long. I wish I had kept with it! It was great exercise and SO amazingly beautiful! I dont have the body for it anymore, although I AM working towards one lol!! Plus the tutus and ballet slippers just make you feel so girly!

    Hm… Ever since I was little I liked to stand on my tippy toes but always failed at it. I like dancing now but I can’t dance. I wouldn’t say I have a dream to become a ballerina but I can say that it’s very fun dreaming to become one. I enjoy watching them and I know that if I believe and try hard enough I could be one.

    I was in the Nutcracker play in elementary school and I was a sugar plum fairy. I had to wear a ballerina costume with a tutu, tiara, and a wand with ribbons at the end. It was so much fun!

    Yes, I took ballet lessons when I was five and then we moved to another town! No more lessons! When I would watch old movies on tv and saw Leslie Caron dance, I would dream I could leap into the air as gracefully! Then when I saw Baryshnikov, I absolutely fell in with ballet again! Maria H.

    What I really wanted to be when I was a kid was to be a Spanish Flamenco dancer with the beautiful long dress and a rose between my teeth! However I went on to have twin girls who where definitely into the ballerina phase and I even joined them when they were little pink chiffon tutu’s and all! Love Bath and Bodyworks!     Yes and no. I was always told that I’m a chubby or even too fat and was told I would look like a clown if I do go on the stage. I still struggle with self-image issue but I have grown up enough to know that everyone can enjoy dancing regardless of one’s size. I went ahead and took hiphop classes in college and never felt happier when I’m dancing on the stage.

    I think I did briefly. I wanted to be so many things when I was a little girl. I think it changed every week!

    I was a ballerina as a kid, but when I turned 10 my teacher said either I could go pro (and spend a ton of money and time) or she couldn’t do for me, and my parents pulled me out, lol

    Over the years (with age) I’ve gotten a little belly so thoughts of becoming a belly dancer might be more appropriate, bahaha!

    when i was little i would wrap myself up in my moms pretty robe and my moon boots and fur jacket,( i know what an outfit) and go out in my backyard and twirl and twirl in an opening in the trees during the snowfall in upstate ny and pretend that i was a princess just like the one in the nutcracker ballet and i would hum and twirl with my arms out until i fell down and made snow angels it was like a big white snowy castle..i think about it often as it was the last time i ever got to stay with my real mom and it was my safe place:)

    I have, and have not. I was in dance when I was about 4-5. I loved it. I didn’t really wanted to be a ballerina, but I kind of wanted to because of the big poofy tutus. It looked like fun, but my friend said that she hated it, and she kept getting injuries. It always seemed cool and professional to do.

    I did dream of being a ballerina, used to have a jewelry box that had the twirling ballerina in it and played music, would make me smile and daydream…I always tried to stand on my tip toes and hop around in a tutu, was a fat lil thing lol!
