Review, Photos: Algenist Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50 & Targeted Deep Wrinkle Minimizer

So, I want to create a I <3 Sephora t-shirt because they are launching so many wonderful products this season. Who’s with me? I want the world to know I would rent space there if I could. Every time I visit a Sephora location, something new strikes me. Not only did they completely redesign their site, they have also renovated quite a few stores and even carry some of my favorite products once only found  in department stores now. I have been shopping there for years, yet I still love …

QVC Spring/Summer 2011 Beauty Finds

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending a beauty breakfast hosted by QVC where I saw the latest and greatest of their enormous beauty inventory. I’ll admit, I’m not an avid tele shopper. My shopping habits need to focus on the highly tactile, so I end up spending more time at my local Sephora. But that breakfast made me give QVC more than a second look, and here’s why:

1) QVC’s beauty inventory is SOLID as Fort Knox. They have the latest and greatest from brands I completely …

Photo, Review: Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer SPF 30 with Vitamins A, C, E

Having combination oily and dry skin often poses a challenge when choosing skincare products. You need something oil-free yet moisturizing at the same time. Throw in the need for adequate UV protection and you have one tall order.
Over the years, I have tried a wide variety of daily moisturizers with an SPF of 15 or higher, from drugstore brands to higher end products. Though there have been some very good ones, they always seem to fall short of being the one I can’t live without. Aveeno’s Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing …

Ladies, it’s never to early to think and prepare for your sunless self tanners, right?  Being out there under the sun is fun, but those rays can be so dangerous. In the spirit of true skin care, we have gathered up a few of our favorites to help you “fake it” instead of “bake it.”

Fake Bake “Fair” Buildable Self Tanner
Fake Bake is one of the products that “it” girls go to. It’s one of the leading self-tanning formulas, and is known for pampering all skin tones and types. We …

Review: Kate Somerville CytoCell Dark Circle Corrective Eye Treatment Cream

Confession: I am a sucker for good packaging, and this elegant Kate Somerville product scores high marks in that department.  The CytoCell Dark Circle Corrective is packaged in a streamlined bronze and silver pump that looks great in my bathroom, and I will leave it out so I can enjoy the full effect.

As for the eye cream itself, it went on rich and creamy, always a plus for that delicate under-eye zone.  But after six days of use, I did not notice any change in my dark circles, which are …
