Makeup Review, Swatches: CK One Street Collection 2013 – Eyeshadow Quad, Shine Lipsticks, Nail Strips, Polish

The CK One fragrance debuted in 1994. I remember like it was yesterday: an androgynous, unisex fragrance that changed everything. I was a sophomore in college and heroin chic was not a reality but a fantasy… in a good way. I was so excited to receive the CK One Street Limited Edition Collection. What a perfect way to experiment with …

It was the haircut seen around the world! Well, let’s not exaggerate… only the beauty world and maybe the eyes of frequent NY Times perusers. It’s the latest celebrity to chop off her hair and make a splash. Chopping off those locks is the Hollywood cure for a stale career. Not to mention one of the trendiest styles for 2013, along with Michelle Obama kicking off the blunt bang hairstyle trend!

The holidays are right around the corner — and red lips always make a statement! As the warm weather nears our hair seeks a more carefree, brighter look. But, before you rush off to your stylist with a picture of Kate Moss and her fabulous gray roots, think twice… this season, the biggest hair trends are tailored to you!

Kate Moss and her gray roots
Highlights are the easiest selection when trying to lighten your hair, but stylists are ditching the foil and transforming into true artists. Balayage is the new trend and translates to “hair painting.” Instead of foils, stylists draw …

Review, Before/After Photos, Swatches: Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Lipsticks, Glam Eyeshadows And ScandalEyes Mascara

I love London… the city, the style and of course THE MAKEUP!! I was excited to get products from Rimmel. As I opened the box there were so many goodies for me to try. Any brand that has Kate Moss as a spokesmodel definitely gets my attention.
Speaking of Kate Moss, I will start with the lipsticks (pictured above). Lasting Finish Lipsticks – Kate Moss Collection ($5.19) to be exact. I love the funky packaging, with Kate’s signature on the tube.  I received three shades to try: a “Kate Moss” red, …

As twelve models marched from 57th Street and Fifth Avenue in NYC to Saks Fifth Avenue, all I could think about was their new Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick! 12 new shades were launched and each model wore one, as well as the four new Dior Addict Vernis nail polishes. I love when a company makes a bold and playful marketing move!

Powders Are Not Passe: Best Body Powders for Last Days of Summer 2011

Dusting powder in the hot weather is a balm for skin.  It refreshes, cools, soothes and lightly scents. It’s something I am almost never without in summer and one of those products that I tend to stockpile in a large range of fragrances.  While not always the easiest product to find, I’ve helped your shopping by rounding up some of my favorites. There are so many fragrances to be had coming in shake top canisters, decorative boudoir jars and more. You can also look to see if your favorite perfume …

Beauty Notes and Musings: the Debris of Mad Men

Jon Hamm’s quiet, brilliant yet bordello mind. Christina Hendricks’ voluptuous yet feral aura. The distinct locker-room vibe inhibiting the halls of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce Advertising. These are some of the palpable, infectious flavors of Mad Men — the show that has spawned millions of mad women.
When we say “mad,” we mean “mad” for beauty. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and if you’ve started to notice an increasing number of redheads on your way to work, the encounters are no accident.
Which brings us to the subject …
