Review, Photos: CND Solar Oil Nail & Cuticle Conditioner, Cucumber Heel Therapy – How To Rid Callouses On Feet

For as long as I have been getting my nails done, I can remember seeing CND (Creative Nail Design) products on my glamorous technician’s desk. They always smell good, look pretty and most importantly, get the job done.
Two of their best-selling products I have the pleasure of reviewing is their coveted Solar Oil ($7.50) and Cucumber Heel Therapy ($15.00). Solar Oil is one of  my all-time favorite products. What is Solar Oil, you might ask? Its a synergistic blend of naturally light oils, which deliver INTENSE therapy for dry and …

Christian Siriano brought the beautiful ballerina to life on the runway at his Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 runway show. The hair look was a simple top bun symbolizing the “moving ballerina, “created by lead hairstylist Antoinette Beenders, Global Style Director for Aveda. The look was a simple, easy updo. Bender says “it is a look you would see a ballerina wear on her day off,” which was created with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray ($24.00) and Pure Abundance Volumizing Hair Spray ($18.00).

BREAKING BEAUTY NEWS: Neon Nail Polish Illegal In America? Butter London, Nails Inc, Orly

Photo courtesy of Refinery 29/She Finds

When we recommended our top picks for the hotter than hot neon polish trend, we didn’t realize that we could have potentially been encouraging you to break the law! But recent developments have uncovered that crafting neon nail polish in the United States is indeed banned — though it might not be why you’d expect.
Last week, CND co-founder and creative director Jan Arnold dropped a bomb on the beauty world when she told MORE magazine, “Neon nail polish is actually illegal to produce in the …

Review, Photos, Swatches: Saint Germain Paris – Affordable, French Cosmetics Designed for American Women

I’m always on the lookout for a cheap cosmetic thrill. And with Saint Germain Paris, I got just what I wanted! Sophisticated cosmetics with a great price! French designer Patrick Foucart had done research for years on this line. He yearned to create a cosmetic line with great packaging and quality but without the high price tag. “The lower price point beauty products I saw on the market lacked elegance and seemed juvenile. I also had doubts about the quality of some.”
The name of the line was named after Saint-Germain-des-Prés — …

Get The Look: NYFW Makeup, Hairstyle, Nail Trends “Golden Beauty” At Alexandre Herchcovitch

Three things stood out to me as I walked backstage at Alexandre Herchcovitch‘s show this week. Jeweled eyes, gold nails, and textured ponytails. Flawless beauty! I was able to spend a little bit of time with the style masters to find out how to look like those supermodels who strutted down the runway this week!
First, I was able to speak to Philippe Chansel, the head makeup artist. Faces were all about being flawless, sculpted and shaped — and don’t forget the gold eyes! Hence, the eye jewelry. How can we …

(Review, Swatches, Photos) CND The Look Fall Winter 2011/2012: Sheer 24K Sparkle Effect, Midnight Sapphire, Dark Amethyst Nail Lacquers

When I first saw the CND The Look Fall/Winter 2011 box, I thought it was a sari from India. The packaging looked so glamorous, so exotic and the gold foil dual tone designs was exquisitely done. Like a fine box of chocolates, I was almost reluctant to open the box.
The Fall/Winter 2011 collection contains two rich polishes, one in Midnight Sapphire, which is a deep, dark blue , almost a navy; and the other a Dark Amethyst Color that is a deep wine colored number. The thrill of course, is to …

Designer: The Blonds
Make Up: Kabuki for M.A.C.
Hair: Bumble & Bumble
Nails: Kristina Estabrooks for CND
The Look: Playboy
“The inspiration is the Playboy model at the Blonds,” says lead M.A.C. makeup artist Kabuki of the highly theatrical show. “It’s sex kitten, futuristic, Raquel Welch and Ursula Andress in one: it’s sexy and sharp.”
Kabuki used a false eyebrow on the models, a winged eye and a “lightning bolt” eyeliner look. “It’s not exactly a lightning bolt but it’s a little flick on the bottom,” he says. “We’re contouring the face in nude, and the …
