How does Kim wear so much eye makeup and not seem to be in pain? Not a grimace, nothing watering, no redness… It appears that she does have talent after all!
It is no secret that I have the world’s most sensitive …

Makeup Review, Swatches: Bobbi Brown Relaunches Sheer Lip Color Lipsticks Spring/Summer 2013

I am beyond thrilled this spring! Bobbi Brown has relaunched her Sheer Lip Color ($24.00) range. Back when I was at the counter, I always championed this formula: it was easy-to-wear, the shades were amazing and it lasted forever. And then the inevitable happened: it was discontinued. My heart sank. No Bare Stain, no Pinkberry Stain. I was so sad.

Well, this spring we can all rejoice! The Sheer Lip Color range has been revamped and reshaped. I was happy that the texture is the same: it’s a semi-matte, but has …

How To Care For Your Makeup Brushes: Which Cleaners Are The Best? Which Brush Is Right For You? How To Best Use?

At a recent neighborhood party, my friend Sarah passed me the new NARS blush she was sure I hadn’t tried. “A bit dark for me,” I replied. Secure with my own shade of Deep Throat by the same brand.
“Here,” she said, thrusting the makeup brush into my hands. It appeared to be covered in powder, mingled with tiny bits of dust and I wondered: Did she clean this makeup brush from time to time or… ever?!
The idea of sharing makeup brushes slightly grossed me out. After all, I had read …

Makeup Review, Swatches: Sonia Kashuk Eyeshadow Quads/Duos, Brush Set, Highlighter, Ultra Luxe Lipgloss, Bronzer 2013

Sonia Kashuk first came across my radar in the early 90s, as she was Cindy Crawford‘s personal makeup artist. Then she started her eponymous line for Target. I was excited to see what she has come up with for Spring ’13.

Makeup Review, Swatches: Bobbi Brown Brighten, Sparkle & Glow Collection – New Eyeshadows, Powder

Give me your tired, ruddy and unglamorous skin. And I’ll give you Bobbi Brown . When I first worked for Bobbi Brown , I was a mere twenty-one-year-old, whose biggest concern was how to look awake at work after all-night dance parties. Now that I’m slightly older, my concerns are to still look awake, although the dance party scene is long gone.
The Brighten, Sparkle & Glow Collection is full of tinted eye brighteners, sparkly eyeshadows, shimmery glosses and finishing powders that are all lifesavers. These products really do liven up …
