After yet another blow-drying session, we realized our hair was starting to resemble a bale of hay. While we like to think we take pretty good care of our mane, everyday radicals like flat irons, pollution, and over-processing seen to rip the life out of it. So in a mission to banish the barnyard look for shiny and sophisticated locks, we decided we were in dire need of hair therapy. But here’s our issue: Whenever we use a deep moisturizer that hydrates our brittle, split ends, the rest of our …

Last week, Lierac celebrated the 35th anniversary of its signature product, Phytolastil. A French physician created the gel and serum duo as a gift to his wife to remedy her post-pregnancy stretch marks, and lo and behold- Lierac was born.
Many of us know all too well that stretch marks work their way into being during times of quick weight gain, such as pregnancy. As the holistic plastic surgeon Dr. Shirley Madere explains, the stretch marks are better prevented than treated, since no treatment, not even surgery, can completely remove the …

Gone are the days when hair spray meant boatloads of AquaNet coating beehives and bouffants along the Jersey Shore. Sure, we still have Snooki to think about, but everyday women need a little something to hold their ‘dos in place too.
So when we got our paws on a bottle of Suave Weather Protection 365 Humidity Defying Hairspray, we immediately imagined clouds of hairspray with a toxic smell. While we were pleasantly surprised that Suave didn’t have a gassy odor like many drug store brands, I wanted it to have a …

When I first saw the fabrics from Liberty of London, my heart skipped a beat. These prints — so pretty, so Alice in Wonderland and so flowery — reminded me of books that I had read in childhood, and loved: Enid Blyton (whom many of you won’t know because she’s a British author who seems to be the best kept secret since the Illuminati code), and of course, Lewis Carroll.
Everything about Liberty of London is so British — and yet, so universal. As I mentioned to you before, the packaging …

Last evening, I went to the Shizuka New York Day Spa to get a Swarovkski Crystal Mani. I had not really heard too much about this salon apart from the fact that it had started the infamous “bird poop” facial. Enough said.
The mani, which costs $45, involves a basic manicure with a hand massage and some Swarovski crystals applied to my nails. Here’s a look with the Blue India Nail Lacquer from the MAC Liberty of London collection. This dark green blue shade has a pearly, creamy finish and is …

We had reported a little while back on the latest mascara from CoverGirl: the LashBlast Fusion Mascara, but we did not have an actual sample on hand to test. But guess what? We snagged one.
I have to admit, that for a big purple wand that promised happiness like Barney with a round belly, this LashBlast Fusion Mascara absolutely delivered on every single promise: it lifted the lashes, it coated the lashes evenly and superbly – with ZERO deposits at all – and it made my lashes look really long and …

This may well be the decade of the bristle. Or the decade of the eye lash – you decide. From Latisse to Clinique’s Supercurl Mascara which I stash under my bed at night in case some one decides to rob me, I’ve tried countless lash lifters.
Another one looms on the horizon, and it’s Smashbox Hyperlash Mascara, which is exclusive to Ulta.com until March 31st. It has a plastic bristle, and promises to deposit the good stuff evenly over your lashes. It is supposed to “lift, lengthen, volumize and define” like …

Of all the MAC collections I’ve seen this past year, Liberty of London had me at Freedom. The makeup, the packaging — everything was so elegant, over the top, 1970’s flower power mixed with elegant Briticism and a carefree joie de vivre (oops, that was French, but what the heck?) that ushers in Springtime.
The kaleidoscopic prints of the Liberty of London designer label are prevalent in this super chic collection. Here we spotlight two eyeshadows, Birds & Berries (a frosted dark green blue in a Veluxe Pearl finish) and Dame’s …

Clarins doing makeup for the Summer? I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read about it. The name, Instant Sunlight, is particularly clever and makes me think of lazy, languid beach-filled days on Fire Island and the Hamptons.
The mochas and browns in the Clarins Instant Sunlight Makeup Eyeshadow Palette have summer spice written all over them:
The collection also has a Smoothing Luminating Compact in Natural and Bronze:
There are three Click & Gloss Lip Glazes in Vanilla, Coral & Cinnamon:
