Some ladies sit at a beautifully decorated vanity table and make “putting on their face” into a ritual. Others (including me) always do their makeup on the run. I have been known to do my makeup in cars, trains and aeroplanes.  For those of us who are always on the go here is a selection of makeup palettes that make putting on our pretty face easier:

I have to say that I absolutely adore this product: the new REDKEN Aerate 08 is a stiff paste that you apply to towel-dry or damp hair and then blow dry to get amazing volume.
Check out this picture!

Directions: Take a dime size amount of the Redken Aerated Cream-Mousse and then apply it all over hair, then using a tourmaline blow dryer, blow dry hair from the roots all the way to the tips (actually the best thing is to leave the tips alone, since they become brittle from blow drying …

When this little square shaped packet arrived in the mail with four mango butter lipsticks in warm tones, I immediately felt the urge to try them all.

(From left to right: Natural Brown, Natural Purple, Orange Brown, Orange Brown, Orange Red)
The Delight Your Lips are $26.50 and would make a terrific stocking stuffer (it’s a $72 value; $13 each).

It all starts with the frame. This frame can be thick, thin, arched, angled, tweezed, plucked, waxed, trimmed, dyed or shaven. It can appear as a singular unibrow sensation. It can tell people about your beauty standards, grooming habits, age and social status. It is the key to your facial expressions and nonverbal communication. Bette Davis, Joan Crawford and Marlene Dietrich were women who all too clearly understood the frame’s power. Their modern day equivalents do, as well.
In beauty, the frame begins with your eyebrows. In my pursuit …

I got the opportunity to attend an event last week where I met THE John Frieda — who has been described as the founding father of modern hair products, according to Vogue. Frieda started as an assistant at age 16 to Leonard, a leading stylist in the 70s.

Frieda made his name by making models’ hair look perfect in a matter of minutes when on the sets of photos shoots with magazines like British Vogue and Harpers & Queen. You could say he was the David Copperfield of styling and an …

This finishing creme can be your secret weapon in your hair arsenal. It’s a flawless finishing creme, so the idea is to transform dull, dry hair into something manageable and shiny.

Before

After
Directions: Rub a dime size amount into your hair, and massage through, from roots to tip. This is great for travel and your pocketbook — just a smidgen will tame flyaways in a second.

Yes, I know I need a haircut –I’m beginning to look like a Shetland pony– but thank you John Frieda for easing my frizz a bit.
There are …

The Task: to find a makeup line that you love, that has SPF, that moisturizes and does the typical anti-aging hoo hah.
The Solution: HissyFit, an Australian brand that makes some of the best tinted moisturizers, lipbalms and handcreams I’ve ever tried.
It’s really hard to find a foundation you love. Especially during the summer, when SPF is just about as essential as ice in water. So I was delighted when I tried HissyFit’s Saving Face Foundation: the texture was rich and creamy and didn’t clog my pores. The only caveat I …

What do puffiness, dark circles and fine lines around the eyes have in common? They are all major skin concerns for anyone over 18. The eye area is the first part of your face to show the signs of aging. The skin around the eye area is thin and delicate and is especially vulnerable to the effects of pollution and the sun, therefore aging faster. The lack of oil glands in the eye area also means that this area cannot lubricate itself and needs external moisturization.
On top of aging and …

We heard through the grapevine that Zo Skin Health products were seriously moisturizing. So to accurately measure their strength, we decided to take on the task that makes our hands resemble a construction worker’s: cleaning the bathroom, sans rubber gloves. After our cleanse-a-thon, we lathered on a thick layer of Zo Skin Health Oraser Daily Hand repair and felt majorly rejuvenated.

The clean, fresh scent isn’t overpowering and the texture isn’t greasy, so we’re confident enough to shake someone’s hand after applying. We’ve even taken to slathering a layer on our …
